My daughter is 8 months old she will be 9 months old on March 28th, but she is trying to walk!! I'm so amazed, She stands up all by herself then tries to walk and falls on her butt, it's the cutest thing ever!! Do you have kids, how old were they when they started to walk?

Aw, your daughter is precious, Pinky! I love her outfit aswell, very cute! My foster brother never tried to stand up, crawl or pull himself up by grabbing on to tables, chairs or people. He was 1 year old and ten days and sitting in the middle of the kitchen area (I remember it so well!). He starting smiling and cackling, he stood up without a fuzz and walked away, bizarre! It's a wonderfull experience when your little ones start walking. Enjoy this wonderfull moment!

Yes, it was pretty awesome. A great experience indeed. I was so happy that he decided to do so on an evening that I wasn't at work or away, lol! I remember the dilemma of going upstairs for my camera or not, because I didn't want to miss a thing. So I rushed up and got my camera and allmost came bouncing downstairs because I couldn't contain my excitement or my muscles . Allthough I now also experience that sometimes, when he gets his little grabby hands onto everything and anything, I would sometimes wish that there was an "off" switch on him for just a couple of hours .

Oh my goodness - that's so exciting! My son will be 9 months old on the 21st but he's not up to walking yet - he's a bit too wobbly... I'm in no rush to have him running around the house. We're just happy he got his first tooth! Enjoy it - take lots of pictures!

My daughter has all her teeth in the front, six of them are out and she has 2 more coming out! I'm taking so many pictures of her!! When she sees me with the camera she starts smiling. I know it will be a lot of work running after her around the house but I'm really excited right now!!

I totally agree with "no rush"attitude. My son is 8.5 months old and started climbing his crib when he was 6 months old.Now he can even stand on his own for a short while!but it's just a week since he started to chew!!he did eat solids, but not realley chewed until a few days ago.I was sooo worried, thought he'd never get there!!!but I guess they are just so different, and I shouldn't expect too much from him.

I definitely think that mothers worry too much about milestones which are really just loose guidelines. Every child grows at their own rate and eventually gets to the same level. Some just take longer than others in different areas. I'm sure your child is doing just fine!

My daughter started pulling herself up and walking along the couch or coffee table by 7 months. By 9 months she was taking 3 or 4 steps before falling on her butt. By 10 months she was RUNNING the house!!! I really wasn't to happy about it I could have gone a few more months before she started walking. I wasn't really ready for it. I'm not the type of mom that looks forward to the next stage like a lot of moms do. I like to soak in the current stage and be happy with what she is doing instead of trying to get her to do the next thing. I know some one that is always trying to get her kid to start doing this or that quickly but for me I'm happy taking my time watching her grow up.

I have a little sister, I was in high school and she was a baby that time. She started trying to sit on her own at 5 months and tried to walk (with support) at 7 months Your baby must be a healthy baby thats why she started walking early like my little sister

When a child starts to do a major first it's always exciting. My youngest, who is 18 months old started walking at 9 months. It was so cute because she was so tiny, and many days now I wish she'd got back to crawling, lol. She don't walk anymore, she skips around the house. My son was also an early walker, though he went from sitting to walking, he scooted himself over to the coffee table to and stood up and took off. Though, we've paid the price for him to be an early walker, and no crawling, because the effects of not crawling didn't show up until he started school and they found that since he didn't crawl, he didn't build up his shoulder girdle muscles, which you need to be able to support yourself when writing. So he's being put there Occupatiental therapy to help build up those muscles. When my daughter started so early, we kept pushing her down so she'd crawl some, so we wouldn't go threw the same issue with her.

Wow, I didn't know about that, I have a friend that never crawled, he just went from sitting to walking and he doesn't have any problems. That must happen to some babies.

Now children are much more advanced. So they are doing everything very early. May ne it is reason she wants to grow up soon. IO have also heard from mother that I started walking at 9 months.

My son was 9 months and my daughter was only 8 months when they started walking on their own. They both walked holding onto furniture for a few weeks before then though. How exciting that your daughter is trying to walk on her own.

yes, that is an exciting phase. My 15 month old daughter started walking on her own two weeks after her birthday. Now, she's unstoppable! She walks around the house and we can hardly keep up with her. She's fallen once and got a bruise but that didn't stop her from exploring new territories. She's just sooo excited that she can walk and would do everything to be able to walk a lot, around the house, outside the house, in the mall, in the park... basically everywhere! She also refuses to be carried when we try to carry her. It's nice that my daughter is learning to be independent, but I kinda miss the times when she was dependent on me. So, enjoy moments with your daughter while you can. She won't be needing you as much for long. Kids grow up too fast!

I read about it, and they say sometimes they don't start walking till they're like 2 years old, but I'm very happy that my baby is trying to walk.
