It is like being asked to be in a rock or a hard place. I would want to be happy and have a job or work that makes me happy. I don't think I would be happy being unemployed. By the way, I am unemployed and still happy but I might not be so happy for very long if I don't find a job or something that will give me money. cheers!!

I have been mostly happily without a job for two years. I miss the money, but it is nice not to have to get up in the morning. I am probably going to have to do something eventually, but right now I am making some money on the internet which is kind of keeping me going. I will either increase my online earnings or try to get a real job.

If you do not need the money from that job, then definately stay at home. If you need the money and you cant get the job you like, you may have to suffer for a little while at the job you hate. It is truly hard to stay at a job you hate, but you have to do what you have to do to take care of yourself and your family. I would, and have, worked jobs I hate in order to pay my bills. But if I did not have to work that job and my bills would be paid then I would not stay at that job and I would just do what I wanted. I am not the type that enjoys being unemployed. I like to work, but I like to work jobs I enjoy.

Hmm.. I think this is a case to case basis and cannot be answered by simply choosing between option A or option B kinda thing. Of course for me ideally I'd want to have the job that I truly want and would enjoy, who doesn't? but we don't live in a perfect world and in reality you can't always get what you want and the opportunity will not come that easy to most people. So I think it's ok for you to take a job even if it's something that you don't really enjoy that much but make sure it's also not something you absolutely hate. Even if you're working you can still look for ways to get to your dream job. At least if you're doing something, you're learning from this experience. And who knows maybe it can also be your ticket to the job that you truly want. And besides I believe happiness is really a choice.. :)

Well like what I said earlier it's a case to case basis. Not every one have the luxury to just stop and wait for a good paying job. If you can afford to wait then I guess it's ok.. but of course it's better to look for that good paying job rather than literally wait for it. And while being unemployed maybe you can do some freelance work too.

In this trying times, it is better to stick with the job even if you are unhappy with it. Save enough for the rainy days so that when you can't stand it anymore, you can quit with enough money to support you while unemployed. That is what I did. I am happy now. No stress. I am still looking for my perfect job, though. I know it will come.

Oh, that's sad. I hope you are doing okay. You might wanna try to capitalize on what you are good at. Create a job from your talent. I've seen people who have done this. Say, are you good a selling? Maybe you can start a business. Are you good a writing, arts or dealing with people? There are people who succeeded in various endeavors- blogs, writing for a publication, selling homemade crafts like tshirts, soaps, candles and the like. I hope you get your dream job.

I think that if you want to work you should take whatever job you can get, especially in this economy. You could wait forever for your dream job to come along, and that wouldn't be very profitable. A little stress won't hurt you, and you can be earning some bucks while waiting for a better job to come along. I've worked at jobs that I wasn't the happiest in during my life, but I've also discovered that there's something you won't like about every job you have. That's just the way it is. So I'd say bite the bullet, take a job, and become a productive citizen.

If you have recently completed your studies and in no urgent for a job then well as you said you could wait for the choice of your job but well if you are in need of job and in financial problems then well you will be ready to do the job that you do not like also and would change for a better job later if you get it till then you would continue your job.

You are right, cptlo. I'd do the same. Consider this..
I am unhappy at my job... I am not able to give my 100% to it.. my work begins to suffer.. the boss notices.. he gives me a warning.. I become even more unhappy.. my work suffers even more and I begin to make more slips on the job.. The boss get furious.. and sacks me.. I become unhappily unemployed.
versus
I do not take up a job that I don't like. I sit at home mylotting and chit-chatting with all of you. End result = I am happy + I'm unemployed.
no stress. no mess.

I would rather be unhappily employed happlily unemployed. Cause now I'm really eager for money :P
Well, just kidding.
I wanna be employed even it could make me unhappy is because I think it is also a good opportunity to pratice myself on how to deal with tough things. It can be a challenge for me and I love challenge.
I can do that job while keep looking for the others but it's also a chance. I will not let any chance go.

I would be happy unemployed. If i choose an unhappy job.I will have a lot of tensions over there.I will also become sick very soon.If i am unemployed i will try some good home opportunities.I know it doesn't add to a full time income but spending the time earning money is definitely worth.

It's a difficult choice for me. Of course, it is best that you can do the thing which brings you money as well as happiness. However, it is impossible that everything is always OK. If my stomach is the first problem which I have to resolve, I may choose to work at an unhappy job and wait for another one which will bring me money.
