why would someone make such an evil lie

I just moved from VA to PA. Someone in VA started a horrible rumor. They said that I was going to kill myself and take my daughter with me. I am very angry about this. Its one thing to say something about me but when you stick my child into it then its totally different.
My mom confronted me about it, she got mad at me saying she was going to take my daughter from me because she heard I was going to kill myself and take her with me. OOO was I mad, I got up in her face yelling at her not to ever say something like that again because thats not funny. I would never hurt my daughter.
She said someone that she knows but I don't came in to the daycare she works at telling her this. How do people that don't know me spread these rumors.
Oh and get this, apparantly someone from Canada started the rumor about me over the internet. Hello, I've never been to Canada for someone to make such lies. This kind of lie can ruin someones life. Who could do such things?
How would you feel if someone started a lie like that about you? What would you do?

Hi, tgrider1121! This is bad!!! Why would someone do this to you?? And first of all, how could your mother of all people, believe something someone sad about you like that??? Why didn't she just approach you in a nice way and asked you if this was true? I don't understand that! Why would she just up and believe what someone from the daycare said about you? How is anyone from Canada involved in this if you have neer been there??? This is very weird. It has to be someone that knows you and may be jealous of you. They may want you to lose your respect and you child. They don't want to see you with anything.. This is sad to know.
You have to do all that you can to get to the bottom of this! I am not at all happy with your mother's reaction. She should not just believe what she hears without hearing it first from the house's mouth. Shame on her! She is supposed to stick by you when something like this takes place, not root the rumor along.. I hope that you can get this resolved for once and for all. And I hope that you can find the real rumore spreader. If all gets worse and someone is threatening you, go to the police!

I don't know how someone from Canada is involved. My cousin was the first to tell me about it and she said her cousin told her. I was like whatever. my entire family is screwed up, that why i left va. Then my mom came to me w/ it said someone i don't know told her so i went back to my cousin and she said someone else told her, then as i kept digging through it, it came back that someone in Canada started the rumor. which i don't believe, i don't know anyone in canada. i think its someone in my family. thay already screwed up my brothers life now they r trying to screw mine up as well.

WOw, this is pretty serious stuff. What I would do is find out where this originated and open up a good old fashioned can of lawsuit whoopass. I sincerely hope this works out for you. Fight it every step of the way. It could become a witch hunt if you don't. Good luck.
