I much prefer colored lights. They brighten the room and the mood, and just make the holiday more joyous for me. My favorite way to do my tree though is in all blue lights with blue and silver decorations, and silver garland. It is very peaceful to look at, especially when all the lights are off except the tree. Simply beautiful.

I like using the colored lights on our Christmas tree. I first layer on one long strand of blinking bulbs deep in the branches, then intertwine with 4 other strands of non-blinking closer to the outside.

Last year we did all white and blue lights and it looked fantastic. This year we're not decorating I don't think, we'll be packing to move to our new home at the end of January. Maybe we will decorate for the heck of it, who knows, but it'll definately be blue and white again, it was beautiful.

I must have white! The colour comes from the decorations and baubles. We also have real candles (which are lit for a very short time and watched like a hawk) but Christmas isn't Christmas without real candles on the tree!
