Has anyone seen "Mamma Mia" ? I've rented it and my husband thinks I'm purposly trying to torture him with the Abba music. It looks cute! Should I just give up and watch it alone??

I think that would be a good movie. I havent seen it but I would be interested in seeing it. I really like Abaa music and think that they are a really great group and one that I would be itnerested in watching a movie on. I heard some of the music in that movie is not too hot however. I am referring to the singing.

Ok, I finally got my hubby to watch it and (just as I thought) he hated it:-) But, he was a good sport and sat through the whole movie. I thought it was great, some of the singing scenes were a little hokey for my tastes but overall a really cute movie!

Ask yourself these 2 questions:
1) Does your husband really hate abba's music?
If he can't stand Abba then this is definitely not a film for him. But if he doesn't mind it then me may like it more than he expects.
2) Does he like movies which are simplistic, cute and a bit cheesy?
If he doesn't mind these sorts of movies then he may well like it. But if he needs a movie with any resembelance of a tangible, complex storyline, great acting and a bit of depth then he will not like it.
Personally as a bloke, I've seen it and enjoyed it but not too the extent that I would rave about it.

I've decided I will just turn it on and if he watches, he watches! I'm willing to bet he will get sucked in, whether he wants to or not:-)

I think its more of a "chic flic", but it all depends on your husband's taste. I really enjoyed the movie though. It just makes you want to get up and dance and sing! Enjoy!

I have not seen the movie "Mama Mia" What is abba music? Is that an old rock and roll group? Because I seem to distinctly remember a band by the name of abba back in the 80's. I think you should try to get your husband to watch it with you, maybe he will come around to your way of thinking and begin to like abba music, and if not at least you will be able to enjoy some quality time with him.

Yes, the very same Abba you're thinking of. There is apparently alot of their music in this movie and my hubby is not a huge fan...

Of course you should watch it alone.
This movie got fans all over the world so I think it worth watching it.
I liked this movie - it's cute, big stars, good love story and great music.
Try it.

I think you will get more enjoyment out of it if you watch it by yourself. I thought Mamma Mia was fantastic! However the funness of the movie might be lessened with a husband sitting next to you who really doesn't want to watch a movie about abba songs.

My husband and I went to the movie theater to see Mamma Mia when it came out. We both loved it. I guess it depends on your husband and what he likes. I don't think you should give up yet, give it a try with your hubby.
