I think todays is by far the worst as it was mainly children. It was in Montana, school kids going on a ski trip but crashed and all died. As a parent, this makes me sick to my stomach to even think about this kind of tragedy. So, did you all hear about this?

i did not get to hear all of it and this is sad news for those kids . i am afraid of plains and to put my or my childrens life in the hands of some ones else that high in the sky is scarey to me . people tell me all the time but those are just freak things the chances of it happening to you are slim. well what makes my life any diffrent then thiers? and yes you are right there has been alot of crashes they really need to do alot of educating these pilots. it seems as if things are just slacking off in just about every area in this world . was there any parents with the children on this trip? it had to be so scarey for these little guys.

Yea, the logic of flying in a huge mass of steel and metal with some stranger at the wheel. It is horrifying!

I think I heard it was caused by ice buildup on the wings. You would think that planes would be able to avoid that considering that it is a really regular thing to have ice in the winter!

I know, I was thinking about how I would feel as a parent to have the worst immaginable thing happen and it makes me sick. It is a tragic thing to hear about. It seems to be happening more and more lately though with these planes.

I agree. Hubby and I were discussing a trip to disney next year and how we should travel and I decided that a car was the only way I would be comfortable going. It is just to big of a risk especially with my children. They all seem to have different circumsances but the outcome is the same. Fatal.

I know, my stomach was turning and my heart racing as I was reading it. It is absolutely devastating to even imagine.

I didn't but I stopped listening to the news, cause that kind of stuff makes me feel to sad. I think it is because they are all so old, and very few are getting retrofitted. Lack of experience, messed up weather, who knows.
