In terms of Christianity, people would say god made man in his own image. How did they know? As far as I can see the only ones that god made them in his own image are the early Christians. And when you think about it, the ones who brought it up are also humans, not god. Agree?

I don't believe that god made man in his image and likeness. I think it's the other way around. Man made god in his image and likeness. It all comes down to humanity's ego and pride. If dogs were the dominant species in the world and not humans, the dogs would probably say that god looks like a dog too. All other animals, if they were the smart ones and not us, would say that god looks like them. This creation story is very anthropomorphic. In fact, you would find anthropomorphism in almost all stories of divinities in cultures around the world.

Same here. If I recall correctly, I've read that quote from Edith Hamilton's Mythology book where that has been said. And when I thought about it, it is true. It's just people who said that god made man in his own image when they're the one's who have done it.

Yes, man made god in his image. God is a invention of man. Man created God when he was afraid. That was the only way for primitive man to explain the natural calamities and other accidents.
Now, many people have started questioning. People have started doubting the existence of God. People are asking for proof and that sure is a good sign.
