When I am a child, my family is poor, so I always got two boild eggs for birthday gife. But I also felt very happy since eggs is luxury for me and my family.
When I am a student, the birthday gift always came from my classmates, such as music box, photo frame and so on, I am happy too.
Now, I always get some expensive gifts from my wife, and the gift also become more and more expensive, such as watch plus cake, shaver plus cake, camera plus cake and so on. But I find expensive gift don't make me more excited.
For me, the favorite birthday gift also came from my parent when I was small. About twenty year ago, my father returned back from my town before my birthday. So, I got a game machine, I am so happy, I felt I am the most happiness guy in the world. I wantted to got it for a long time, I got it, I love it. But unfortunately, my performance in school became a little bad in the following times. Hehe

Right, my parents are more than fifty years old, they live in another city. So, I always remember to do a call and they are very happy I can feel. But unfortunately, I forgot to wish my father's birthday several days ago, I remember this when I called my mother yesterday. I know my father must be sad and disappoinment, I also felt sad when I know it yesterday. So, I must keep the birthday of my parents and wife in my mobile phone as a alert. Your response let me remind of this thing, thank you .

As is vividly depicted above.the expensive gift don't make us more excited!we have good reasons to believe that the gifes from our friends is really exciting when we are young. the memory is colorful.
Consequently, I don't want to get anything when my berthday is coming . just like talk with my friends! and have a meal!
have fun with others!

I think when I was a kid, I had been asking either for a flute or guitar for my birthday. I knew that I was going to get at least one of them. On the day of my birthday, both my parents and grandparents knew that I was waiting for something and so excited that I couldn't sit still, they had me run errands, or wash the dishes or return some things to a neighbor. They had me doing things just to bug me....lol
My grandfather finally took pity on me and had everyone gater around while I was haded my present. It was the most beautiful, shiniest flute I had ever seen. I played it foe 6-7 years. I haven't touched it in eons, but thinking about it just now may make me go did it out. I bet I'm going to have to tak eit in and have the keys reset and repadded.

The simplest one is their greetings. I would really appreciate hand-made greeting cards. From that I know that they reaaly fight hard to celebrate my birthday. I am happy just to listen to my friends' singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU".
But, so far the most impressive birthday present is the iPod nano from my friend.
I like it very much!

I was in school, when I got two pens from my cousin during my birthday. I was very happy I got pens from my birthday. My first gift was a doll when I was 1-year-old. This my parents told I got it from my father's friend. I kept the doll for around 25 years. I always keep my gifts without destroying or spoiling. I also got a cassette recorder during one of my birthday.

my favorite gift that I received is their
presence, my families and friends are more than

I didn't really get too many gifts growing up either. I'm the oldest of 7 and I would often watch and wait expentantly while my dad would run out and buy on of the other children a coloring book and crayons or a kite, or some other cheap gift. I started get excited about my birthday, but I never really got anything from him because he said that I shouldn't expect presents for my birthday. I usually just got a birthday prayer from him. Haha.'God, thank you for giving us another year with Marie.' Ooookay. Anyhow. For my 16th birthday my mom told my dad that he had to do something really special for my 16th birthday. So, he got me a CD player. I was so excited because all my friends had CD players and I didn't have one yet. I got a camera from my Aunt and a piano keyboard from my grandma... oh and she got me 16 roses as well. Anyhow, a couple of weeks after I got my CD player it broke and I found out there was a recall on that brand of CD player so I went to take it back, but I didn't have the box or reciept so they wouldn't even trade it for a new one! About a year later I got my first job and then I bought a new CD player then.
Now, I like personal gifts that means someone thought about the gift before getting it. If they don't seem to think about gifts too much, then I'd prefer the cash. Haha. My grandma got me a ralph lauren perfume, lotion, and body wash set last year on my birthday. My mom got me a candle that smelled oh so good. These days my dad goes all out for birthday gifts for me and all of my siblings, but we all know the reason he does that is to try to make himself out favorite parent. He knows that after the divorce we ALL sided with my mom and I think he thinks he can buy some of our loyality. But, I told him straight out that I think he was very selfish when we were growing up and there is NOTHING that could buy my loyality... but thanks for the cool stuff! Haha.

I dont think I have a favorite thing. I was always a very shy kid growing up and I know although I liked having birthday parites I hated being the center of attention. I am still that way today. I hate having people watch while I open presents and stuff, even at Christmas. Anyways, I like getting things that mean something, like the stuff my kids make for me or that hubby actually puts thought into something I want or need or anything that will make everyday life easier and run smoother for me.

I got a watch also like you in my last birthday, it is very beautiful, I can give up all my bracelets so. Another reason, I don't usually get birthday gift from my husband because he consider it is wasting of money. If I need to fight with him?
But I couldn't be a winner.
