Our grand old man, Percy, is 15 years old but he is a definite outdoor cat.
Whatever the weather he demands to be let out at night and he's there for his breakfast every morning.
Recently I spotted him sheltering in the dog's kennel early one morning! Don't tell the dog!
When the weather's fine he loves to sun himself on the garden wall.
My daughter's cats, on the contrary, are completely indoor cats and are never allowed out. I know there are risks but it seems ubnnatural to me.
Are your cats indoor or outdoor pets?

|The cat I have now (that used to be my wife's cat, but it adopted me) has never been outside and shows no interest except escaping into the hallway. My previous cat in Arizona was raised for five years as an indoor/outdoor cat. She came in through the cat door every afternoon at 4 and I'd lock it. She saw her sister killed by a coyote and didn't wander after that. After I moved to a condo, she showed no interest in going out because she could see coyotes wander through the courtyard every evening.

My cat sounds like your cat! His name is Cookie and he loves going out. He does come in for a sleep sometimes but he likes to stay out all night. I have tried keeping him in in the winter but he cries to go out!

Richard, my cat, is an indoor cat. He's kind of pathetic because he has never been outside in his life and the outside kind of scares him. Still, I would rather have him be a bit afraid than always wanting to go out. My friend has that problem with her cat. I guess I am lucky in some ways with him. In other ways I am not because he has behavior problems.

A lovely looking cat...very distinquished!! Our cat, Morgana, (she's in my avatar) is strictly indoors. Occasionally, I'll take her out and let her look around while I hold her. She's been declawed so letting her out isn't an option...besides I'd worry about her if I left her out, some evil ppl put milk with antifreeze out for cats to get rid of them.

Our cat is an indoor cat. We live in the middle of a fairly large city, right on a main street with lots of cars, trucks, busses, bikes.... all kinds of traffic and people going by. It would be unsafe to let our cat go outside, so we keep him inside.

My Banjo was a bit of both. He would stay in during the day or come outside with me to garden or water or do laundry. He liked to be around the other pets and he also liked to go exploring. At night he would come and go as long as I stayed up...sometimes he would be in for the night, sometimes out. He caught lots of mice from parts around here, now we are over-run. He would sleep under the house with the goats, in the laundry, within a hollow log, in the garage or the car if the windows were down. We live in a little village in the Aussie bush.
My new next door neighbour after encouraging him into her house and yard and letting him stay till he was ready to go decided she wanted chickens so I have to keep Banjo inside. She said it's my responsibility to keep my animals indoors. She said it was safer for him and that he would be killed if he was thought to be killing chickens.
It's been over since weeks since I started keeping him in and he still wants to go outside and he sometimes likes me to go with him when he uses his tray. We don't like the tray.

I have two cats one female and one male. They are both indoor and outdoor cats. One is declawed and one isn't. The one that is declawed still goes out all the time, she drives us crazy meowing until we let her out.

Our cat is an indoor cat and I plan on keeping her that way. We live in an apartment complex that contains many cats. They are always pregnant or running rampant. My cat is beautiful with a beautiful coat. I don't want kittens and I would like to keep her healthy and clean. She has ventured about 2 feet from the front door and that is it.
