Indoors......Outdoors

What would you prefer - the serenity and peacefulness of home OR the din and bustle of the outdoors.Mental equilibrium is a balanced one when you are within the four walls of your residence. But things go astray when you land yourself amidst people with different interests. Life in its entirety offers calmness and solace in solitude. On the contrary the outside world gets you into all sorts of distractions..

I love to go shopping even supermarket shopping , I like to meet and chat to people , I chat to strangers all the time :) . BUT I also love the quiet in my home where I can sit with my bare feet and in the silence ( when OH and Ross are out:) ) chat on the laptop like this with my friends , Wee xx

The outdoors outside my house is plenty peaceful. My house, is actually more noisy than outside. Especially with the menfolk of my family around. Nature is what offers me solitude and tranquility...something I crave often. I can be distracted no matter where I am, but I find it easiest to focus around nature.

I prefer to be at home. I cn pursue my own interests, listen to music if I'm in the mood or sit silently with a good book. The only problem with that is that my girls keep visiting. I love them all very much but like it better whne they leave me in peace.

Where I live it is often peaceful out doors. I am in a less populated area than you, I guess.

Hi sukumar794! I do think that we all need balance in our life. I am glad that within the confinement of my home, I can achieved mental equilibrium and within the solitude and calmness I experience in the comforts of my home, I can always feel recharged and rejuvenated. I do agree with you that the outside world is full of distractions and most of the time it drains me with all the energy I have. Take care and blessings to you! lovelots..faith

In our society, still there is no way to stay al your life indoors. To make a living you have to get out. To see people, to talk to them, to build yourself a net of social interests. To get a job, work, go to social meetings, make real friend. Everything helps you in life, once you know how to deal with people.Life is about experiencing things, learning non-stop. Of course, being indoors, protected and far awy from any kind of things that can take you "astray", would be nice and easy. Show me someone who can do it, without talking to anyone. We're not so advanced yet. We still need each other, and learn how to deal with each other. Everything can be settled in a nice , polite talk. All we need are manners and a real will to make things happen without violence. And then, the outside life can become much more calm.

solitude in the forest, on a mountain or on the water are all restorative, it is not the place but the situation that brings the imbalance.

There are two sorts of people in this world. Those who are only happy at home. They go out to take care of business and get home to relax and be happy. And the extreme opposite. Those who are only happy outside their home. For them... home is like a jail and they only use it as a dormitory. They need to be out there... and explore the whole world. It is a risky business and many do get into trouble. But they reckon it is worth it. Some people manage to combine the two as they get older and don't have the energy to party 7 days a week. lol For my part... I prefer to be home. The only time I was happy outside my home was when I went on holiday.

Home is my choice. I don't mind going out well of course sometimes I have to, like grocery etc. I don't feel comfortable outside unless it's hot and sunny or I am just new in town wanting to see every part of it.

I like the serenity and peacefulness of home. However, I'm isolating when I do that and that's not good for me. Men and women are really meant to be social people, not constantly, but with some balance. Personally I haven't found my emotions or equilibrium go astray when I mingle with others of different interests. Actually I think that makes living more interesting. I guess it takes a bit of mental fortitude to mingle with the big picture of "society" as a whole. It's easy to deal with being enclosed within four walls, but I don't think it's healthy. Thanks for letting me share.

I am fortunate that when I go outside I'm in my peaceful yard. I don't go away from home much, just to get food and such so I'm mostly at home. My yard is a wonderful place with birds and a lovely tree, I can see huge beautiful trees all around me and the only disruptions are the dogs barking at each other (gossiping? trash talking? ) and the laughter of children.

Fit in to which every fits your situation. But it is sometimes refreshing to be outdoors to catch the great dramas of life and be socializing with others. Yes, I prefer outdoors more as staying indoors all the time would drive me to insanity.

I think I need a bit of both to sustain the balance of my mental equilibrium. I enjoy staying at home often but occasionally I do need the distractions from the outside world to bring me back to earth. I feel like I'm too self-involved if I stay indoors too long, and the outside world reminds me that the world doesn't evolve around these 4 walls of mine. Distractions can sometimes be a good wake-up call to live life to the fullest.

I prefer staying home but when I get out, I like being in the good old outdoors like sitting on a bench watching ducks paddle around in a pond or bird watching, and I try to steer away from most people!

I like being inside somewhere. I like being somewhere cozy, and safe. When I am outside, there are always people around getting in my way, and always a lot of noise. I like to sit somewhere comfy like at home, or in a familliar coffee shop, or even on a bus that isn't too over-crowded, or in a taxi.

I believe this question came up on the Wii "Everyone Votes" channel or a question similar to it and if I remember correctly people chose overwhelmingly the peacefulness of home (as did I). Great question. Thanks Zelo
