Look out for her - she's got red hair!

It is said that redheads have a feisty, fiery temper. I have some evidence that that is the case from personal experience. But hardly scientific evidence. Are you a redhead. Are you a firebrand, a hellcat? Or are you a pussycat. Purring your way through life. Is the red headed reputation ill founded?

There is probably nothing scientifically proven anywhere but it does seem to be the pattern. Even in literature you read of those of "hot blood", and naturally they are either red heads or dark headed women with darker skin. At least that is one way I've seen referenced in the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
In my own personal experience, as insignificant as it is, my oldest is a red head. She's a pistol! She's always been very blunt, honest, and doesn't pull any punches. A bit like her mother, I'm afraid. She's also highly motivated. She's a straight A student, wonderful artist, and musician. She's involved with several organizations outside of school, and has her college career planned out.
I'm sure she'll go through life as both, and that's just fine with me.

I've always heard to look out for redheads, they sure are fiery. My grandma was a redhead, my grandpa said when he first met her, she had red hair that was almost orange red. She had a temper, I mean a temper, it didn't take much for her to get fired up, if she gave you that look you knew she meant business. My grandpa knew how to push her buttons and he did, he'd make her so mad, he thought it was funny, she'd be over there hitting on him or something, but he'd just laugh about it, and I think that made it worse..lol.

I'm a strawberry blonde, not quite blonde, not quite red. I CAN say that I was one pretty feisty gal in my time, though! I can still get my blood a-boilin' if the issue is right.
When I was younger, a friend of my mother's once said she could see pitchforks flying from my eyes. I had no idea what she meant by that at the time, but I learned later.
Maybe the blonde made me docile enough to get along with most people, but you didn't want to cross me! That fire in me has burned the stomachs of many a sorry soul! But, I'd have to say that I was more passionate and feisty than hot-tempered.
Wisdom and age (especially age) has mellowed that side of me down, though. I tolerate much more than I used to. Some thing just aren't worth the effort, ya know?
My son, now, my youngest son, was born with red hair. (It changed to strawberry blonde like mine soon afterwards, although I enjoyed calling him "Pumpkinhead" for awhile there. ) I used to say "Red hair is NOT a color, it's a personality." This kid almost drove me insane!!! He was hyperactive... officially hyperactive. I was passionate. HE was PASSIONATE!!!
But, from my experience, hair color really doesn't have much to do with personalities. You either got it or you ain't!

The sun gives me red highlights but I'm a dark brunette... and a pussycat to boot. But I guess that makes me no help in solving this puzzle. So I'm just dropping in to purr a 'hello' at you.

I am a redhead and I honestly do not think that my temper is any more fiery than anyone else. I am sure hair color has nothing to do with one's temper. I believe what happened is some time long ago, one particular redhead may have gotten really angry at some people, and since his or her temper was hot at that time and as a redhead, his or her hair was also the color of fire, someone compared the angry redhead's temper to their hair color. Then, unfortunately this silly analysis stuck and now all redheads unjustly get this label. I am sure some redhead's have fiery tempers, but so do some brunettes and some blonds, but no one comments on the feisty temper unless the hair is red. As for me, though, I wouldn't say that my temper is fiery.

I am a redhead and so is two of my sons and my daughter.
The only one with the fiery temper is my youngest son but I put that more down to the terrible twos than the red hair.
My eldest son is a very shy peaceful loving boy who hates violence and it takes a lot for him to lose his temper but when he does, which happens once in a blue moon, it is best not to be around him.
I am the same as well.
My partner used to think that all red heads were that way and avoided dating any until we met which soon made him change his view on redheads as he now admits that he was wrong. (But then again he is outnumbered four to one LOL)

I am a sucker for redheads. I don't know what it is about them.
I have known a few and have been in love with one. She does have a temper though i don't think it's any worse off then most women. but i also think shes one of the most giving and caring girls i know and i often hear that about redheads too. they may be high temper but they also seem to be just as loving at times.

Hi p1key,
I have black hair as you know and still have a temper, that is my Italian side coming out, I have a lovely colour darrk red now out of a packet, hehehe. I don't think it matters what colour hair you have, if you going to have a temper, you have a temper. Most of the time I am a pussycat really. Hugs.

Hey p1key! Well, I believe that most redheads are firey!
But that would be "true and natural" redheads! I am not an
expert on them, but I surely have met enough to know that
they usually meet up to their expectations! I for one an
not a redhead! I am a brunette, but I can tell you that I
have been know to breath fire too...

I'm a redhead, and have a pretty good temper. However, thankfully I also have a very L-O-N-G fuse.... Personally, I don't think redheads have hotter temperatures than anyone else. It's just a matter of how nicely our hair matches when we're angry. Of course if the reputation causes people to stay out of our way, then let's not spoil it, ok?
