Hey there! First off all: Congratulations for finally taking the big step And now to help you out a little bit :) The package manager in Ubuntu is called Synaptic. That's where you will find most programs for your distro. It is in the system menu and you must run it as sudo to be able to install programs. For good security reasons. For the cube you need full compiz/compiz-fusion. And the compiz config manager or whatever it is called. Just open up synaptic and search for "compiz config" and when you have the program installed just tweak around in there. There are alot of fun effects you can play with. For emerald theme manager you need 1. emerald and 2. themes. Of course :P To start emerald run this command "emerald --replace" and you can go into settings - sessions to add it to start-up programs so you don't have to run the command every time you boot up. This is very tip of the ice berg but if you want more details and help add me as a friend and message me :) Good luck!

I have been seriously considering Linux but I can't seem to find the information I need. I need a live tutor I guess. I try to keep my computer as simple as possible. The only games I play on it are the ones in the XP Pro install. I chat here on MyLot and surf the web a little and that is about it. I need a Linux OS that is simple to use. I think a lot of my problem with Linux is the fact there is so much information on it on the web it is hard to sort through it and find what you want. Any tips would be greatly Appreciated. Art
