Hi mhayfie
I prefer desktop!^^ its easy to upgrade when there are new parts to be installed, cheaper when u assemble it by your own. and i feel comfortable especially using at home. laptop is convenient but what if you forgot your laptop in some convenient store or to your office and some one took it, your important files might reveal something or they will sell it for $$$. ^^ just my opinion though happy posting guys.

I had a laptop a Dell. It lasted for nearly 10 years. Very efficient one. When It was letting me down I understood that He was tired so I decided to buy a new one and again I took a DELL im so faithful to it. Now no problem with it. Whether it will last for 10 years or not I don't mind but atleast I bought what I wanted. With my studies and work A laptop was needed not a desktop now you got to see what will suit you. With my laptop I can work anywhere and everwhere.

I actually own both and there are definate advantages and disadvantages to both of these for sure. A laptop you can take with you when you travel and usually find a Hot Spot to connect online too, where a home computer is only good at home. But personally like you, I think if you have a major issue it is easier to figure out and diagnose and fix on a Desktop as well.

My purpose in computing requires a desktop computer because its cheaper than a gaming laptop. I do not travel a lot, so it is more convenient for me to use desktop. It easy and cheap to upgrade. You can replace and upgrade all parts in desktop. I am more skillful to handle desktop hardware than laptop hardware. I have experienced only ram and hard disk replacement in laptop. If the the laptop's keyboard is malfunctioning, then that is a very big problem. This is only my opinion. I prefer desktop computing.

If you are tired of a desktop you have to thrash it, it is worth zero! If you are tired of your laptop, you can either sell it for half (or even more) price and upgrade to something more powerful, or you can put it in the closet and use for things that you don't wont to risk your new acquisition.
Laptops Forever!!!

I'd choose a desktop over a laptop anytime. The reason for this is because desktops are easier to fix than laptops. Also, desktops are easier to upgrade and is much cheaper than most laptops. Finally, desktop computers have greater potential for upgrade than most laptops.

I have both. I will choose desktop If I have to make a choice. In my opinion, you may have a powerful computer spend same money if you buy desktop, and the screen in laptop is smaller than desktop. I like a powerful computer to play pc game.

Though I am having both I will be mainly working with laptop only. I used to work when lying in the bed also, but we can not work with desktop like this. Some time I will work with my laptop by keeping it between my belly and the legs when I am about to sleep. This is the major drawback in my case, as the total heat developed in directly hitting me.Though the laptops having many advantages, now and then I will work with my desktop, if I need to type more, as the typing speed will more in normal desktop key boards, then using laptops.

It is mobile world today! Everybody is on move and wants to keep themselves updated about happenings around the world. News has very little time period when it is considered fresh. So I prefer Laptop instead of desktop. Of course, it takes much care from user to keep it in good condition, but it can help you keep updated about yourself up-to date and keep you moving! Variety of mobile internet options like Wifi/data card connections are now possible, which make life easier with a Laptop.
Also it helps in power management easily as Laptop can run without power for up-to 4 hours after charging once, where as Desktop has to be on power whenever you wish to use it.
So I go for Laptop!!!

Now days, the difference in power is becoming obsolete. As far as some of the high end laptops available, you can get all, or more power than you can in a desktop. I choose laptop because of portability. Its an easy choice. Would you rather do a certain amount of things in the same spot every single time? Or would you rather do these same things with the versatility of being able to do them in an assortment of different places of your choosing? I choose the latter! With wifi, 3G broadband access, gaming, email, net surfing, and having a mobile office to carry along with you, it's a no brainer! Also most of the high end laptops today have the ability to output to a monitor or TV, and along with a USB or bluetooth mouse and keyboard...its basically like having a desktop with you 24/7! I choose mobility!

I too prefer having a desktop. It has speeds faster than a laptop. It can also be upgraded. It does not have a battery to charge often. We can attach sub woofer speakers to listen to music very clearly. We can put graphics card to play games. We can also put a printer to print ans scan our important files.

I prefer the laptop because it is so portable. It follows me where ever I go. I like to even take it outside and myLot out there. Nothing like a warm gentle breeze on your parched face while typing swiftly.
I still use my regular computer, but it is tucked away in a very small room. I like space, space, space.
