mine was about to go down in history as the most stupid thing i've ever done. first, i lied to my parents and told them that a colleague was going with me on that plane. second, i had an ankle sprain that time and third which worsened the fact that i had an ankle sprain was i was dropped off at the wrong airport. oh, not to forget that it rained.
so: first time on a plane with an anke sprain when i was dropped off at the wrong airport and suffered my first turbulence all happened first and foremost through lying to my parents.

And Let that be a lesson to You! That sounds like you managed to tick off almost the entire checklist of "what could go wrong, did go wrong.." You don't mention if your luggage ended up at another airport too?...but at least you managed to keep pilot's rule #1.."Always ensure your number of takeoffs equal your number of landings.." hope the experience hasn't put you off a second flight...!

i knew something was wrong or at least missing with my recollection. i forgot to tell you about the luggage. well, it didn't get lost but i have to drag it behind me lost in another airport, alone, sprained ankle and all. thanks for reminding me. the checklist is now complete. :)

So many things can go wrong when going on a flight before you even get on the plane..Did You Leave the Oven on at home? What about the pets left behind? will they be ok? Did You bring the passport? Is it still Valid? are you going to be delayed in traffic getting to the (Correct!) Airport? is the flight delayed?(or cancelled..or overbooked..)Can you get through security without having something confiscated from you that's intended for someone at yor destination? no wonder flying is considerd stressful..
Thank You for Best Response!

its very sad and i can understand what you are trying to tell, hope your next flight would be more better and good. my first flight was nice but i had left my three month old son with my mom and i had travelled along with my hubby for a week and so i had a bad feeling of missing my son and i was always worried about him and hence this was a difficulty for me and all other things were fine but travelling by air is a real good fun.

i can only imagine how hard it is to leave your son. i also experienced that and i felt like i was going to go crazy. it breaks your heart to that point. it also made me think whether my work, then, was worth it.

i was very excited for my first flight. i was two hours early in the airport and my friends were laughing at me for being so excited. i chose the seat nearest the window and when we took off, i was able to observe the plane and i thought it seems so hard to lift the big plane, it was flying on its side very slowly. then i can see the clouds and the land below. very nice sight. the worst part is landing. i hate what it does to your ears, very painful. and the length of time waiting for the luggage. but i love flying and i hope i will be flying again soon =)

My first airplane flight was by myself in the mid 1970's. It was all due to my parents. They were going to vacation across the country in California. My dad did not believe in stopping for almost anything. Going to Florida with them one time made me car sick, and it takes a lot to get me car sick.
I am still amazed that I took the trip by myself. I said a prayer something like asking God to help me not be afraid and that it would be an enjoyable safe trip. As the plane took off from the runway, I was enthralled with the motion, size, and feeling of lift. I peered out the window as everything became very small quickly. All the hustle and bustle of cars, people, and life became obscured by the expanse of the sky and land and water below. I have never felt so free. I was almost disappointed to land but relieved that we were still in one piece.
While one should not lie, maybe the flight was a problem because of planning. I have had travels like the one you described; and sometimes, no matter what you do, you will have an experience that is quite surprising. I hope you will not give up on traveling.

yes, you're right about the planning of my first flight. i mean, i lied to my parents and that's not a good start. it would be more of a miracle if it turned out so perfect, so enjoyable, so karma free...

oh gosh I'm sorry your first experience was so awful! But at least nothing horrible happened with the plane. My first flying experience was when I went to Disney World with my family. Overall it went well. I remember the flight attendants paying a lot of attention to my sister and I and we both got pins and certificates for it being our first flight! It was really fun.

My first flight was also to Disney World . I was 5 years old, I don't really remember much of it. I do remember getting a pin also. Since I don't really remember it I am pretty sure it was just fine and dandy. Since then I have flown at least 50+ more times and cannot say that all of have been pleasant experiences. Especially my last flight this Jan...what a horrible one that was.

Oh, I am sorry about your horrible flight experience. At least it gives you something to talk about .
I can't say much about my first flight experience, because I was really young and do not remember. We use to fly at least once a year to visit family on the other side of the U.S. Sometimes we would drive, but we would also fly when we didn't have the time to fly. So, I was too young to remember when I first went.
At least yours is memorable .

The first time i flew was when I was 4 years old. We(my family) went to disney world, my brother was only 2 at the time, so he flew at an even younger age than i did. I didnt know very much at the time so I didnt really have any problems with flying. Now it doesnt even bother me, I've flown so many times im just use to everything now. Some big turbulence still gets me, but other than that, everything is ok.

I am sorry to hear that you had an awful experience the first flight you did due to your sprained ankle and that you lied to your parents. The first time I flew on a plane was when I was 14 years old. I was with my mum and we flew from London to Athens. The flight took around three and a half hours. I liked taking off and seeing the view but just before landing I got severe ear pain. Luckily ten years ago a friend gave me a pair of ear planes, plastic screw like things that go in my ears. They stop me getting any pain. The first time I flew alone was to Finland when I was 18 years old.

This reminds me of my sister who traveled to Cebu for the first time. She went there without the permission of my parents and rode a boat. The weather was a bit stormy and the boat they were riding almost capsized. She was so worried because my parents thought that she was just went to the next city. that was her price of not telling the truth.
