Are you living your dream?

Are you living the way you always thought you would be? Do you have the perfect house, spouse, children? Do you have the career you always wanted?
I'm just curious...My life isn't the way I pictured it when I was younger...I don't have a promising career. I just have a job. But it pays the bills and the health insurance and I have somewhere to go each day. I don't have the perfect house with the picket fence. But it's a nice little house and it's built well and it's sheltered us for years now. I did marry the man of my dreams. He came along much later in my life than I had hoped for but I guess it's never too late for love. We have a healthy gorgeous son and hope to have a couple more children.
So what about you...are you living your dream or are you still working on it?

I will graduate on July this year ,and I will get into the society.I will have my first job ,and work hard for it .Maybe one day ,it will become my career, maybe I will change for another job soon.I thought very fine before I began to find a job .I wanted to find a job which was relaxed and could earn a lot of money! I thought it was easy to do it .But it is really hard! There are so many university graduates and a few status ,to much competition! But no matter how different it is ,I will not lose my dream! I will stick to my dream and strive for it !!

i think hardly one ir two people in thousands would have had completed there dream and as those other people i have got none that i had dreamt of instread i got worse things which made me more angry, so i think dreaming is just waste of time instead we should do something and get what we hadn't dreamt of would make something better than none

What a great question! To answer truthfully, No, I am not living the dream I had for myself when I was in my teens and early 20's. Now I realize they were just Daydreams, not based on any reality, so eventually I grew up and tossed them out.
You sound like you have a nice life and a great family too. Appreciate it. Leave dreams for sleep and night where they belong and you can enjoy them. Have you ever kept a dream journal? Where you jot down what you dreamed?

I guess if one is is living his/her dream, life would become directionless.
Let me clarify: Ten years back if i had to list out my dreams, i would have listed most of the things i am living/ experiencing today in that list. But the beauty of our mind is that it keeps on expanding & we work towards bigger dreams.
I have a loving & caring family, however the search for greener pastures has taken me away from my parents. so my my new dream is to retire early & be closer to my parents.
I always wanted my son to go to best school in town - now that it has happened i dream to take a long holiday with him.
For me the search for perfection will never end & this is the beauty of life.
***** for the question,I really enjoyed answering that.

No, I'm not even close to living my dream. I did not marry the man of my dreams, we rent an apartment, I don't have a job. But, what I do have are 2 wonderful childrent that I love more than anything else in the world, and as long as I'm with them and they're with me, nothing else matters. Just because I'm not living mine, doesn't mean I can't help them live theirs when the time comes. I can help them learn from my mistakes, and who knows maybe someday I will get my dream life. For now, I'm settling for what I have until I finish my accounting classes, and can get a good job.

Well, I believe everyone has a dream. In my case, it has been my lifelong dream or goal to be self-sufficient. For more than a decade now, I have been working in 3 separate corporations; one after the other. I must admit that it helped me survive but I'm not fully contented. I know I should be; I'm already married with 1 daughter for a child, and I'm really thankful for this.
However at present, I'm still worried with our outstanding loans with various loan agencies and individuals. This is the biggest factor why I couldn't help myself to realize my dream of having my own business. Well in this case, a family business already.
I'd like to spend more quality time with my own family, specially with our daughter who is about to start schooling. I feel that if I continue to be a working mom, I wouldn't be able to guide her in her primary years in school; and I know how important those years are. I myself have spent my whole years of studying away from my parents and siblings because I stayed with my mom's younger sister here in the city. Given the chance, I'd like to be with my child in most of her education path.
Hopefully, I'll be able to earn a substantial amount to start the business I've always dreamed of; before she even starts her schooling, with God's help.

No I'm not living my dream I think that in this world it is nearly impossible to live your dream unless a lot of it is handed to you. Most people start off rich and stay rich or get richer. While others struggle pretty badly to try and survive. Human kind is to messed up to allow us all to live our dreams and I think we all know that.

Hi jambi - Not a lot has been handed to me or my husband. We both work very hard for what we have. We struggle every day to make sure we still have a roof over our heads, heat and hot water in the house, and food on the table. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time and I hope it gets better for you. Thanks for the response.

Oh deejean, everything seems to have nicely panned out for you. Congratulations and wish you more luck with your future dreams.
I'm a sucker for romance and love, so I'd happily trade a house with picket fence and even a career for it. lol.. but jokes apart, I am still young to comment. However, I think I'd find it very boring if everything worked out exactly the way I had wanted or envisioned. I know even if I did get everything I would miss something else.. that is unknown to me now. am I making sense?
so, personally, i've lived through a bad relationship or two, a career that looks promising as of now, and i havent really dreamed of a perfect house or mate house yet. i also believe that it is important for us to have some of our dreams and hopes crashed for us to appreciate the ones that do work out in the end.
On reading your story, I am delighted for you. the dream that you are now living sounds ideal and perfect.. atleast to my ears! :-)

Hi Lucky...Thanks so much for the kind words. I think I misled you a bit as I didn't have just a bad relationship or two, I had a whole string. I was alone for a very long time which was difficult because I looked around at everyone else my age and they all had exactly what I have now: a spouse and a child. So my life was not always peachy but it all turned out for the best. And you're right - If I had gotten everything I wanted long ago I would not have the things I have now and they're the best I could have hoped for! Thanks for your response and good luck to you!

I'm no where close to living my dream.... I'm only 21 years old but i do feel i should have had a start on it already...
I don't have a job and i need one. I have social anxiety though so it's not like it's a walk in the park for me to find a job.
I don't have the woman of my dreams.. haven't even came close to meeting her.
I don't have my dream house but at least i have a home...
i don't make a living from being a photographer and i want too.
I still have so much to do before i am living my dream...
but i have started to work on my inner problems so that i can then work on the outer ones so i can move forward and begin to live my dream

No, I am not living the dream that I thought that I would be living. I still have many roads to go with my life. As far as my career is concerned, I am not doing what I want to be doing. I am still trying to find work that will bring me some extra money in. I am married to my husband of seven years, and I still feel that another man wants to be with me. I have three kids and they are very beautiful. I am still making strong plans to do all that I can to succeed. My life has not planned out thw way that I thought that it would. I feel that I should be much further than I am as of now.

Hemm...When I was a child, I dreamed that I was an astronomer. I love the stars in the sky. Every night I looked at sky, and counted the stars. But now, hemm....I am a student of computer technology. I still like stars. It's mysterious. Now ,it's my habit.

Not yet. It will takes some years to go for that dream. I am working in a call center now because it is where the labor needed most. Though I am trying to upgrade my bachelor degree for future purposes. Still, it will take sometime to be one of those who are happy in their field. With the recession right now, I guess it is better to practical first while waiting for the industry whom currently in freeze mode.
