I'm hungry for chocolates

There are more than a dozen chocolates inside my fridge. There are Hershey's milk and dark chocolate, Kisses, Cadburries, M & M, to name a few. They were bought from Duty Free by by a cousin who came home from abroad. Everytime I open the fridge I see them and my saliva starts to drool. I am always tempted to take a bite and at one point, I opened one chocolate pack but, thanks God, I did not eat that. I have been sick in the past just for eating chocolates. A small bite immediately irritates my tonsils and gets a cough afterwards. The worst that happend to me when I was hospitalized for eating much chocolate. I don't want that to happen again. My husband and my daughter both love chocolates and they are enjoying it now. Oh, I'm so sad to see those chocolates. Poor me, I can't eat chocolate! Did it ever happen to you that you were deprived from eating chocolates? Do you love to eat chocolates? Enjoy eating chocolates, I will just savor the smell. . .hohoho

I personally love chocolate though I try not to eat it all the time because where as it is delicious, it also isn't filling enough for me normally. One of my friends actually sent me probably the best fudge I've ever had from Michigan and other than that, I'm not really picky when it comes to brands of chocolates though I normally prefer milk chocolate the best.

I used to be a voracious chocolate eater. I preferred dark chocolates because it didn't give me much sore irritation. But lately, I got a bad tonsil irritation again. I promised to heed the doctor's advice not to eat chocolates anymore.

I also love chocolates very much. Cardburys is my favorite chocolate. I do not eat chocolates very often. I take chocolate occasionally. Dairy milk is another chocolate, which is my favorite. I also liked to put chocolates in the fridge and eat it chilled.

I am so sorry that it appears you are allergic to chocolate. I am not, but I have a similiar allergy that is just awful. I cannot eat strawberries and I love them so much! I was able to eat them until about 3 years ago. One day I ate a piece of strawberry cheesecake and I broke out in a fine rash all over my arms. We thought it was contact dermititis. Went away in less than a day, so I didn't think anything else about it. Several weeks later, I ate strawberries with whipped cream over pound cake. Within an hour I had the hives. It was awful. MIke took me to the emergency room because I was so miserable. They said it was the strawberries and to avoid them :( A coule of years ago, I too, gave in and took a small sip of a frozen stawberry margarita because I was told it wasn't made with real strawberries. Evidently they were mistaken and it had strawberry juice in it. By the time I got back to my hotel room, I was broken out in this fine rash again...and that was just with a sip. So please! look at that chocolate as your enemy~!

You should check with your doctor, because that's actually what can sometimes happen with a mild allergic reaction! It's what my youngest daughter does when she eats something with mushrooms in it! Her pediatrician told us that each time she ate them and had the phlegm and mucous problem, it could get a little worse and a little worse until eventually she would have an episode where she wouldn't be able to breathe at all!

I have tasted many dark chocolates in the past and I love them all. But my doctor advised me not to eat chocolates anymore, dark or not. Its saddening that I cannot have even just for a small bite. I don't want to take the risk of being hospitalized again.

Thats just terrible. I have tried to diet before but I just find that too many people around me eat the things I cant eat and then I just get to thinking that I'd rather be chubby and happy than skeletal and missing out on the luxuries in life :) (I'm not a porker by the way - I'm 9.5 stone lol)

I also love chocolates, however, I do not take it very often. What you can do is to take those yummy chocolates in moderate of less quantity, whenever you are unable to control your saliva and desire. You can ask any other member of your family that they should distribute the chocolates and when your turn comes, they should offer you in a meagre or moderate quantity, so that you should not fall ill because of it and if you take it in moderate quantity, your desire will also be fulfilled.

I have tried to eat chocolates in moderation but after a while I still had tonsilitis. This time I will just eliminate chocolate from my list of food in the hope that I will feel better one of these days.

Chocolate is one of my favorite treats. I am a small girl, so I do not need to worry about gaining too much weight from mowing down on chocolates all night. I could stand to gain a few pounds, actually. Studies show that chocolate is actually pretty good for you. It releases a chemical in your brain that makes you happy - the same chemical released as when you feel love. That is why when we are sad we crave so much chocolate. I bet all those tv shows where you see women crying and watching a sad movie and eating chocolates makes much more sense now!

Oh your discussion is very timely. I am just given a pack of Toblerone chocolate by cousin who just arrived from England and then went shopping to the Duty Free Shops as she returned. I love chocolates but I don't eat in excess. I always practice moderation in everything. I am sad for you that you can't enjoy chocolates due to your physical condition. Are you diabetic? I am happy I can eat chocolates without fearing about my sugar level. I do vigorous body exercise each day so my body is physically fit. If I were your housemates, I will avoid putting any chocolates that will reach your sight so that will neither get tempted nor get sad for not being able to taste a bit. They should be very supportive of your condition. Meanwhile, I encourage you to do regular exercises. Have a nice day!

Chocolates.. Hmmm.. Just after opening this discussion and before responding, I ran to the fridge and ate some portion of Lindt Swiss Chocolate! I never say No to chocolate. People known to me think twice before offering a chunk of chocolate as they know i will just jump on it like a starved kid seeing food after weeks :) Thats how I am.. Well, that was a lil exaggerated, but I am crazy about chocolates.. Unfortunately in India you dont get quality chocolates everywhere ( There are a few good ones from cadbury and nestle, but dont match the international tastes ) Luckily I got people who travel frrequently from here to Dubai and back, who get me nice chocolates like Lindt, Ferrero, Kinder, M&M et all..
