Food cooked at home by mothers has the special ingredients of love in it. Mothers know what each child likes and tries to cater to his wishes. But unfortunately, many mothers are working to day but at least during the weekends, they should try to cook for the family with the help of children. Also eating together will create closeness and togertherness. Home cooked food may be simple but definitely, it is nourishing and promotes good health. I seldom take my food from outside but am a strong believer in home cooked food. How about you, do you prefer home cooked or eating out?

I love good home cooked meals. I usually go to my mom's place once a week to indulge in her home cooked meals. I am too busy to visit her much often due to the schedules and appointments that I have. I always look forward to the new stuffs that she would put into her cooking. When I was a kid, I always ask for a packed lunch. Mom never fails to cook for me.

Since most food you buy already prepared from the store has msg (msg has at least 32 dufferent names), it is better to prepare your own food. All of the preservatives and msg is not good for you.

I agree with you but most of family members are addicted to msg. I try to avoid using this food enhancer but they will know that something is missing if I don't use it.

I would put it this way - I only like home cooked food. I carry my lunch to my office, which is prepared by my caring better half and I do not actually like any kind of outside food. I firmly believe that home cooked food is the best and no food of any outlet can match the home cooked food, because it is prepared with the best of ingredients. And also, home cooked also contains 'love and affection' of your better half or your mother, which will certainly be 'missing' in a food prepared in big eating joints. An excellent post!

'love and affection' are the extras put aside from the usual ingredients in any home cooked food.

I love home-cooked food very much, especially that by my mom.But I just can cook some simple food which my parents don't have courage to eat.My mon is good at it and has enough time to do so.So lucky! When I at school, far away from home, fortunately, there are so many foods to my taste. And At that time,I have learned the way to cook a bowl of delicious porridge. You may think porridge is so easy to cook or even you don't know what the porridge is.A thick and tasty porridge must spend almost 40 minutes. When you cook the porridge, you can add some red dates, healthy to female,or medlar, healthy to male,or something else.I must keep stirring the porridge until it becoming thick. This need your patience. This kind of porridge is very tasty and will melt in your mouth. It's a pure green food.

Home cooked food -yummy to only a few.But ialways relish food cooked at home.It is nourishing ,simple ,hygeinic, full of love and affection.A person like me would like to cook only the food that is enjoyed by the family.Restaurants are attractive and offers a variety of dishes at the same time. But home made food although only one course at a time is harmless and tasty .we can eat more and our digestion is not in any way harmed .That is why i always relish the yummy home made food.

Food are cooked by my mother at home, till 2006 I didn't realize the value of home cook food. That year I went to a different city and then the realization came. I missed my home cook food cooked by my mum. Yes, now, I can eat everything whatever my mum cooks compared to earlier when I was little shaky with some foods!

Realization only comes when you have tasted other food. There is no better food then home cooked food especially those cooked by our mothers.

Certainly,I do like the dishes my mother cooked.I think the food is delicious, when I smell at them my saliva dripped from my mouse. It is warm when the family member eating together.I feel happiness until now when I recall the scene we eat together. Now I have little chance to eat with my parents because I work in a city far away from them.I feel so pity I can't take care of them.

I love home cooked food but I do like to eat out on occassion. I limit myself to eating out every other saturday. Not only is it healthier but also helps to save money. I miss my father's cooking as I no longer live at home but when I visit he always cooks a big breakfast and dinner since he knows how much I love and miss his cooking. We always joke that the only time I really eat a truly big healthy meal is when I visit home. =)

I agree with you about the way that mothers cook home cooked meals. It seems that only they are capable of making them so that it has a true hommy feeling, not the feeling that you can get from a restaurant. My family tries to eat home cooked meals at least 5 times a week, but I must admit that it is tough. Dinner time is family time and it usually lasts about 45 minutes. I prefer eating home cooked meals because it creates a sense of family togetherness as well as they taste better because they have the warm, hommy feeling. Good question and happy mylotting.

Oh yes, eating home cooked food creates a happy family when they eat together. Those families who eat together stay together and it is crucial for the bonding of closer ties within the family.

my mom works abroad so she gets to cook only when she comes home.. but when she's home, oh god expect to buy like 2 kilos of pork so she can make her specialty - Spicy Adobo!! everybody in the family is expecting it - my cousins, my aunts and uncles, my grandma (whose cooking my mom cannot beat lol), and most especially me and my brothers.. she really is a great cook. my brother would not even eat Adobo anywhere else.. so yeah, i so appreciate home-cooked foods..

Same here i am also a strong believer in home cooked food. The only difference we had is that its not my mother who cooks but me. I do the cooking as my mom is not fun in cooking. Sometimes she neglect her duties to my father when it comes to this certain responsibility. Anyway, my father already get used to it and don't bother anymore because he don't like argument. Personally i like to cook so this help them have less problem when it comes to food. It is really good to eat home cooked food and my father love it.

I prefer eating home-cooked food, I think its much better and sometimes healthier than eating out, and of course cheaper. I enjoy a home-cooked meal but sometimes I wished someone would cook me one for a change, I do all the cooking at home, once in awhile I can get my husband to cook but not hardly. I always enjoy someone else's cooking, we get invited to friends house for dinner, and I'm always ready to go..lol. My husband likes to grill, and if he offers to do it, I'm all for it, I let him do the cooking for a change..lol.

Men are better cooks. But my husband does help out sometimes. I do most of the cooking and love to cook when I see people licking their fingers on the foods that I cook. LOL

Hi alegnaluvu. Yes, I do appreciate home-cooked food. I think it's so a lot safer since we know how it was cooked. We don't have to worry about how it was prepared and the cleanliness of the kitchen. I like it best when my husband does the cooking...I gotta admit, between him and me, he is the better cook. Thanks. Happy mylottin!

Yes, I love my mother's cooking. My mother needs to work at night lately and our family needs to eat out. But we are so boring to find a restuarant now, as the food in the restuarant is a little boring to us. So we especially like my mother's cooking. We are happy that my mother will cook the food we love to eat and no need to bother what we should order in a restuarant.
