You bet... the whole family does. Last year it was warm out so we sat outside and played games.
This year we will need to do so by candle because it's going to be raining.
Here's a couple of links for those who are interested:
For the kids: http://wwf.worldwildlife.org/site/R?i=XToRXbMwXKt0yDrymOdkJA..
For the adults: http://www.earthhourus.org/main.php (that's the us link but I think it can get you to the other countries too.)

Most probably we will. We have planned to celebrate my sister's wedding anniversary on this day; so we will start the dinner early and then switch off the lights at 8.30pm. I guess the kids will be thrilled with this - they think it's fun!

I will also try to participate in it.
It should be once in a month to save some electricity.
I know that from business point of view every minute is important.
It should be publicly announced in each and every part of the world.

I didn't hear about this! How did I miss it?! I will definitely participate , if I'm home during that time. If I'm not home during that time I guess my lights will be off anyways. And hey, even if people do it at another time, that one hour will still help. Maybe everyone should try to do this once each day!!

http://www.earthhour.org/home/ here is the link for you to see and read more about it. i do turn off the lights at home when it is not needed. so i guess every one deos that everyday. but on march 28 it is like a vote. if you turn off the lights that means you are in favor to save the earth. thanks a lot for the response

Well, here in Calcutta, the Govt might be doing us this favour…you see we have this thing called load-shedding which is basically a power-cut when we all are plunged into darkness for an indefinite period of time which can last from 15 minutes to two hours or more. Come summer and with the rise in demand for electricity, the frequency of load-shedding increases too! Only last night we had it for half an hour at bed-time. So even if we don’t switch off our lights for that one hour, we sure will for many more hours to come.

Sure we will participate there! Like you, we also turn off lights or anything at home when we're not using them.

I heard about the appeal, which in my understanding is a symbolic sign to remind people the serious situation the earth is exposed to. One hour shock down is ok for me, but the one hour event will not exert significant effect, unless people are adequately educated what wrongs they are making to spoil the earth.

I'm undecided as of yet as to whether or not I will participate. The reason comes down to global warming. I've heard some interesting theories on how global warming can actually benefit out climat and planet. Most of them push toward global warming being the first step in sending us back into an ice age. Although overally I think its important still to protest the excessive use of a power thats inefficient and detrimental to the planet. I am pretty sure that either way we (my Family) will be participating as it is an important issue to bring recognition to the fact that the earth isn't all that well off, and getting worse yet.
