My best friends cheat me and lie to me?

Never lend money to a friend it will only hurt the friendship. You have to be careful. If he is feeling guilty because he can't pay you back then it is possible that he is avoiding you for that reason. Have you every had the feeling of "Why is this person my friend?" or "Do I even like this person?". If so you may want to re-evaluate your friendship.

I'm thinking you need a new best friend. He obviously isn't a good friend if he cannot even tell you that he doesn't have the money to pay you back! The least he could do is be honest with you. I'm sorry he's treating you this way! You deserve better!! :)
