I actually wash my hands a lot more than I do the meat. A lot of the meat that I eat is halal meat (arabic...) which means that the blood has already be drained from it so there is no need to wash it to remove the blood. But making sure that hands are clean from exposure to raw meat is very VERY important.
Great question
Thanks
Zelo

my wife wash anything she will cook thorougly. she wash the fish more often than the pork or chicken. as you know the fish here in the philippines you just clean it as you buy. my wife buys it as it is then she will clean it herself when we reach home. so my observation is before sooking she wash everything very well just cant remember how many times.

I don't cook and I'm a boy. So all meal in my house is been cooked by my mom. As I see when my mom wash the meat, she usually wash it twice and also with the vegetable. I think wash the meat twice is enough to clean the meat and after it cooked, I think the blood and dirt will vanish. It's only my opinion because I never cook a meat.
Keep post
happy myLotting...

No I don't was the meat before cooking. if it has any germs or bacteria it will be killed if cooked well. So you dont have to worry to wash your meat before hand. It is useless in my opinion.

I usually let the blood cook away. I do wash it when the meat is half frozen and I want to make sure it cooks faster. I do not like blood in meat either, but I thought that no matter how much I washed it, not all the blood would disappear. I really hate going and scooping it out of the frying pan and putting it in the sink. Maybe I should do that the next time.

I always wash the meat at least once no matter what even meat that I bought from a grocery store that is nicely wrapped. I know that people told me that if washing the meat, you also wash away its sweetness but just think about the way it is wrapped and the people who handles the wrapping/cutting process, washing it once would be an ideal.

yes i wash the meat before cooking it. i wash it 2-3 times specially if it comes right out from the fridge, which means its still icey and i need it to put it first in the water to eliminate the ice forming on the meat. i like it washed too rather than not to wash it. thanks friend.
