Some of us often find ourselves running out of time. We are always trying to catch up and manage things at the last moment. We are always complaining about less time and what more could we have done, if......
Some are at ease with the time flow. They are at peace and can balance time and work perfectly well!
Effective time management is to set our priorities right and have them done with a methodical self involvement. This method is subjective.
So, How do you manage your work with time?

As far as time management is concerned mine is too good, I have time for everything I want to do. This is possible because every morning I plan my activities on timely basis and by the evening I have completed most of the tasks I had kept for the day.

That's nice to hear. Completeting all the tasks and still getting me-time is just great!

We all have the same amount of time. But your question is on how we utilize it. And some days I am better at this then others. When I am at work, I am better then when I am doing projects at home. I always seem to get what I need to get done at work done, by writing it down, and being mindful of it. But when I am at home, I tend to do things on a more as I notice it kind of deal. Perhaps if I wrote down everything, and kept the list handy, I would be more inclined to do things that way, but then I would have less of the idle time I enjoy. Sigh.

Hi mimpi dear! I think that I am doing fairly well in my time management. I am always ahead of my deadlines and whatever scheduled tasks I have, I can complete most of them on time and sometimes, ahead of time. However, I do admit that there are some circumstances that I just barely finish a chore or a task just in the nick of time because there are certain uncontrollable situations that will arise. I am just glad that even though that happens, I can always be flexible in adjusting to the time schedule. I always have a time table for every project that we accept and each day, I make sure that I have reached or exceed the quota I have set. This will ensure that production schedule is on time.
Take care and blessings to you.

That's great to hear Faith! I think you are an extremely organised and peaceful person. Keeping cool and composure helps in delivering our tasks well. Routine job tends to get monotonous and that's one field where we tend to lag behind. I need to work on it. I thinking doing things intermittently with creative things help.

Time management is one big factor in dealing with our daily task. We should give priorities to more important things specially, when we had appointments. To succeed in life it's one big factor. Before you sleep at night, set your goals, your activities for the next day. Set aside those less important things.

Hi mimpi...Not so good...I'm constantly trying to catch up but I'm usually on time for things. I'm rarely late for work and appointments. However I just don't feel I have enough time in the day to achieve all I set out to do at the beginning of a day. Maybe some day I'll get my time management under control or set less goals...

I have a lot of flaws...lack of confidence, selfishness, worry...but I must admit efficiency is one of my strengths. I see no reason why time cannot be used to it's most use when possible. Slow people are my pet peeve. And procrastination is not something with which I find myself involved. I think it has to do with a roomate years ago who never procrastinated and did everything right away, then the following summer I became a waitress and found time to be my best friend.

I am a time freak.I am driven by this ticking time constantly.Punctuality is of prime importance to me and expect others to be so.I have managed to drive this point into the heads of the near and dear to me.The people I deal with know that I am very very particular about honoring the appointments. So that is what I am.
If I have work I do it with clock work precision. And if I am free I just laze around with books and music.I never pose that I am busy if I am not busy.I am very comfortable this way Mimpi

I am able to do a lot of tasks by being punctual.I am able to learn photo shop, memorize a Paasuram on Lord Vishnu.teach my daughter the easy way of doing maps,
download Carrie of Cliff Richard and listen to a Ghazal by saving the time on waiting for the people who are erratic in their time management.

Punctuality is a great trait that keeps us time specific and ease out with jobs done, spending our me-times. My father is just like you. He is much ahead of his appointments and plans out early everything. He seems to do a lot of non-doing tasks as well. Thinking, pondering and planning - he cannot do without these.

I think I am good at managing time. I most times get early in the morning if I have any appointment. I never like to do the things at the last moment because I get tensed if I didn't complete the things I need to do on time. I always do things at proper time because this helps me to have peace and relax mind. Some of my friends used to do things very lately. For example, if we want to go to some functions, they come after thirty minutes than the planned time and I used to get tensed when they do it.

Hi! Mimpi!
I try my best to follow the time management techniques, however, it do not always work because of external factors. I can schedule my programmes and event but not of others. It is, therefore, sometimes my schdeduled tasks get delayed. I try to utilise my time to the extent possible. I check if I have 10 spare minutes with me, how best can I utilise it. If I can complet anything in those 10 minutes, I just go for it. While, in office if I find spare time, I make a some important calls during that time. I also try to do multi-tasking to save my time, for example, if I wish to enjoy music, I do it when I am getting ready for my office or say taking bath (donot laugh please). I believe that time saved is time earned, therefore, I try to dispose of all my pending work to get more spare time with me. I use alarm in my cell phone to get up early in the morning and to remind me of various tasks which I am supposed to do in a day. I believe 'time' is precious and it is not going to come back, therefore, I must take full advatage of it.
An excellent post

Mimpi!
Many thanks for your kind words, I try to be systematic to the extent possible and try my best to utilise time. I also do not want to procrastinate the tasks or allow them to accumulate. However, sometimes, I also become lazy specially on weekends and postpone my tasks.
It is good that you just relaxed on Sunday and in the process would have re-invented and re-juvenated yourself.

Now that I am retired, I seem to do much better since I am a procrastinator, but it used to be that I was always hurrying to get things done. I still don't do things in as timely a manner as I could with all the time that I do have. But it seems there are days when I have plenty of time to do whatever I need to and other days when it seems that time flies and I can't get anything done.

I usually do pretty good, but here lately I have not felt like doing anything and now I am behind on everything. I used to have plenty of time and I still do but I find myself just wasting it and just sitting around being lazy.

This is but a passing phase and we go through these lazy moments. Do not burden yourself with the thought that you have to accomplish this and that. Daily routine could start to bring in monotony. So do some things you love in between.

I think, the age factor and also the motivation are important. As you grow older and you will know your responsibilities you will be fine with time management.

Well, mostly I'm running out of time when I need to do things. But I have time for myself when I want to. That's the problem, when you enjoying yourself time goes very fast. I try to manage my time but it is not always enough for everything I need to do.

Hi there. I actually have a problem with managing my time. I'm what people would call a "my pace" type of person - one who prefers to do things at her own pace - so I usually have trouble coping with deadlines and stuff and finding time to do all the things I want to do. I try to be more organized, especially when it comes to work, by making checklists and to-do lists or planning out my day ahead but these aren't that effective. I guess I really don't have a knack at this sort of thing but surprisingly, I've been surviving somehow.

I think I have a good time management because I finish tasks in time and sometimes I do them in advance. I am a plain house wife and a mom and I make it a point to do things I have in mind on a particular day. I do not postpone something when I have already planned for it. In case there is really a need to postpone something then I make sure that I have already set a plan B. Time management for me is very important because it helps me to organize my work properly and have some time with my husband and son.

well, i think it is a common question for everyone. it bothers all of us.i just want to say that we all have enough time.why do we feel we have less time? i think the reason is you didn't do the thing that is important. all what things we do is waste our time.i always do the important thing first, then to do something else.

I have realised that now Sharon! We all have enough time but we waste it. Prioritization is something that lacks in most of us.
Here's abeautiful quote that my friend shared:
Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstein.

Interruptions could be tough to deal with but I am sure with time and experience you will be able to do that. School tasks are boring. First and foremost try to get involved with it. That might help.
Good luck!
