The things that I have always wanted to do when I was younger, that I did later.

When I was very young, I always wanted to eat Fruit Rollups. Me and my sister would beg our father to buy us this. He said that he would, but he never did. We always would ask him about this. When we was young, we never tasted it. I don't know what was so good about it, but we was so excited to try it. I guess Fruit Rollups were very popular back then. And then there are the times, when we would always ask our father to take us to jump in the balls. We would constantly ask him this. We wanted to go to McDonald's to jump in the balls. McDonald's had a play area where they had a big net like surrounding that had lots of balls in it. You can climb in and jump in all of the balls. We would always ask our father to take us and one day we finally went. I think that my stepmother took us. My brother went too. I had fun that day. My sister was there too. What are the things that you have always wanted to do when you was younger? Did you do them during this time, or did it take you much later to do it? Please share your feelings on this. Thanks!

This is wonderful and it's nice that the simple things in life is what most children want.
I have never jumped in the balls at McD's. We didn't have fruti roll ups when I was younger, lol...telling my age now.
I use to want a burger from any place. I rarely had money for anything. I would work doing neighbors yards and use that money for my brothers and me something. I'd buy a soda and candy for us all.

There could be things I wanted to do but not able to do so. In order not to dwell on it, the best is to forget it and now I could not really recall any except for 2 sacrifices. I wanted to learn the harmonica which costs $3 a month but my parents is not able to afford it. I wanted to be a doctor but when it was time to apply for university, I had to come out and work. Now those are just past wishes which can not possibly come true because I have a change of heart. LOL.

I can totally relate to what you are saying! I guess the things that are either forbidden to us as kids or simply missed out on doing are the things we crave as adults. It's the kid in us I guess.
I've never had an irrisistable urge to jump in those balls at McDonald's. Probably because I'm an oldie and they didn't have those playgrounds around when I was younger. Still, I do look at all those balls and think it would be kind of fun to jump in them and get lost in a sea of balls!
I didn't have much of a childhood and I absolutely LOVE stickers of all kinds myself! I love going to Target and hanging out in the sticker section. Even if I don't buy any I just love looking at each of them and all the new ones they come out with. It gives me such a happy feeling!

I remember when I was young I played video game at my maternal uncle's home and since them I became die hard fan of that but we couldn't afford one of those at our home so, I couldn't buy one but when I finished my college, I stated playing games by going into parlors. I started it when I was 20 and till date I am playing these games. I always wanted to visit New Delhi but couldn't go but when I became 25, I went and lived alone too!
There are many things which I wanted to do in my child age but couldn't do and did when I become a little older!

Great discussion topic! I cannot believe this but I did struggle to think of anything to mention. Finally I realized, wearing makeup! I was always pretty spoiled as a kid, the baby of three girls and pretty much got everything I wanted for clothes, toys, snacks, etc. The only thing I always wanted SO BAD was to wear makeup at the age of like 13, of course I was not allowed and can understand why now that I've grown up, I wouldn't let my 13 year old wear all the makeup she wanted either.

I have always wanted to learn how to swim but our mother didn't allow us to have fun or go with our relatives. This April 13, I am going to my swimming lessons of Bert Lozada Swimming School.

I have always wanted to have braces to correct my teeth. And since father is a very practical creature and since also braces are expensive, he did not grant my desire. I was disheartened when I learned that father would not spend a single amount for my teeth.
Later on, when I got a job, and have some savings, I got the braces. And I very satisfied with the result.

Hi cream! I think that is so cute that you always wanted to
taste fruit rollups! I still haven't ever tasted them, but
I am alot older then you! And I never jumped into those balls
either because they didn't have McDonalds when I was a kid!
Yup! That's how old I am! I can't remember what I wanted to
do when I was a kid that I didn't get to do because it was
so long ago! I just know that McDonalds didn't come around
until I was a teenager and I sure did go when it opened up!

Whe I was younger,we don't have TV set, I envied my playmates or other people viewing TV shows everyday. That's why when I get older, my sister brought us TV, we really enjoyed watching every show including news. Up to now sometimes, I don't want to go out of the house, as I would miss an episode of a tele novela. Another thing I wanted to do when I was young was to play with real dolls as I remembered my mom bought me a doll made of plastic, including her hair and dress. So when I get older I always do appreciate seeing dolls displayed at the department stores. I wanted to comb their hairs, touch their moving eyes and change their wears. Now, having a grand daughter, I pass on to her my love for dolls. I see to it that every christmas and during her birthdays she received a doll gift from me. I enjoy watching her so happy playing with her dolls. I feel fulfilled everytime I see how proud she is for having differrent kinds of dolls. At least she experienced what I didn't before.

I always wanted to stay up really late at night and just play or watch TV when I was younger. But of course, my parents wouldn't allow me to. I was always expected to be in bed after I did my assignments not later than 7 in the evening. Some good TV shows were just starting by that time, still true to date, and I didn't get to see those. I was also expected to get up really early to get ready for school. BUt of course, I wanted to sleep some more at that time. Anyway, these days, I can do all that - stay up or get up late every weekends. Sometimes, even on weekdays, but I try not to sleep really late because I have to get ready for work. ^_^ Moreover, I didn't get to buy the things that I want when I was a child, nor eat at fast food joints as often as want. But now, I can do all that. ^_^

When I was a child there really wasn't much in the line of McDonald's or things like Fruit Rollups. However, there were things that I would have enjoyed doing as a child that we never did. Whenever there was a carnival in town we never knew it. If we were out for a drive and my mother spied a carnival she would say "we are going to play a game of duck. When I say duck, everyone needs to put their head down and not bring it up. The one who keeps it down longest wins." Well, I decided to stop playing the game and brought my head up and saw the carnival lights and rides. I was so disappointed. I took my children to the carnival each year. Even if it was only to ride a few rides and get some cotton candy. They went.

When I was young jelly sandals were very popular, but my mother refused to buy them. She said they were bad for my feet. When I was sixteen, they became stylish again and because I had a job I was able to buy my own. I must have bought about six pairs. I still remember my mother rolling her eyes at me. I hate to admit it (no one likes to admit their mother was right) but those shows hurt my feet so bad and because they were plastic, and I live where it can be 115 degrees in the summer, if my feet got sweaty I would slip and slide everywhere!
