The front of the my house

Here is a photo of my house, the flower beds are full of purple African Daisy's and some other flowers in the front of them which are the little light colored plants which are just started blooming. The white part are is the front of the house. Last year we had loads of blooms but not as much as this year. I will have flowers all summer until it gets in the 100's and then the blooms will die off and I will have still have the plants. In the fall the blooms will start up again until I get frost. That is why I picked the African Daisy. The plants live all year long here because we do not have snow.

Hi teapotmom, it’s really nice to see the beautiful flowers starting blooming in the compound of our house. I could imagine how happy you are to see more flowers going to bloom this year. Of course before this you had to spend time and effort working regularly at the flower beds. It is rather sorry that I couldn’t see any attached photos related to the purple African Daisy as well as some other flowers in the flower beds of your house mentioned above. Really teapotmom, it’s more worthy to plan flower plants which have longer lifespan. So that we don’t have to take the trouble to start planting new plants after the first flowers have withered away. I have planted some sunflowers in front of my house and all of them are in full bloom now. I like watching them in the morning before surfing net. I have snatched some photos of these pretty yellow big flowers as well. Happy posting and take care.

It looks like the photos of the your sun flowers did not come through like my flowers did not come through. They finally came through this morning when I attached them to the response I made to the first person.

We had gotten some rose bushes for the front of the house when we first moved here but I haven't been happy with them. A couple weeks ago my husband yanked them out and we replaced them with ones that I think (hope) I'll like better! They're growing pretty nicely so I hope to have some blooms on them in a couple weeks. You're flowers look really nice! It would be cool to have them around most of the year too, we only get them in the summer.

My husband has been watering the rose bushes as well as our new veggie garden on the days we don't have any rain. Next week I'll be taking that over!

We have milder winters than you do. I hope your rose bushes do better than the last ones. We have a vine rose bush and I was out looking at it today, and it has loads of buds on it. I hope the buds do not die off now that we are getting some much needed rain.

What a nice hubby that he will help you out. I am having trouble with mine now I will be starting a discussion about him. He just is not going to work. I am so worried about him. I think it is depression but I am not sure. He says it is stomach pains. He just sits on his chair and watches TV

I love perennial plants. They come up every year without fail. That is of course that you don't get an extremely harsh winter. We have several garden beds filled with various types of flowers and plants. One of my favorites is the hosta. It does flower but it isn't the flower that I enjoy from this plant. The waxy leaves are wonderful. My favorite being the light green with white stripes.

I have not heard of a hosta. I will have to look it up. Here in Central CA the African daisy's do not die back because we have mild winters.

I used to have lots of African Daisies in my garden, but I don't have them here. They're very pretty and practical for your garden by the sounds of it. I'm waiting for my bluebells and anenomies to come out which will probably be towards the end of next month. Daffodils and heathers are in bloom now as well as Forsythia on the shrubs. The lilac flowers will be out sometime in April too and it will change from yellow to pinks, blues and purples, as well as the deep red azaleas I have. Brightest Blessings... enjoy your garden.

I have to go and pull the weeds now. I hate weeding but alas it needs to be done. I also have to spray my orange tree for rust and mold so I do not lose my crop of oranges.

Wow... you get oranges? We don't have anywhere near enough sun here to grow them, but I'm happy with my mock orange as the blossoms smell beautiful through June.

We do have the mock oranges also here. We have loads of citrus fields here in CA. We can grow almost anything here unless it needs to have tropic weather to grow. A lot of CA is considered desert and we have put in systems of canals and pump water from one end of the state to the other so we can continue to farm. My hubby use to grow rice in the summer/fall and oats or barely in the winter.

I have had orchids but do not know how to grow them. They do not naturally grow outside in this area.

I love flowers. I just potted two begonias and my tomatoes are coming up. I am so glad that you have all your pretty flowers. I do not see your photo either. It does sound beautiful though.

for some reason it did not come through. It was on the page before posting the discussion. I have added it to the fist person who told me the photo was not there.

They look beautiful. I would like to see the rest of the garden! The purple is a lovely colour and it gives your house a nice homely, sort of rustic feel. Good luck with the flowers!

the monarch butterflies are migrating right now so they are plentiful. I also do not mind the bees.

I managed to see the photos you placed in other responders. Your garden looks beautiful teapot. I sure wish I had a garden. I've been trying to grow things indoors but somehow think I've lost my green thumb..nothing is growing
