The most weight I ever lost was 30 pounds and that was on the Atkins diet. After 6 months I had to go off the diet and the weight returned 1 year later. I then lost 20 pounds with just walking and now I am at 10 pounds over weight. What is the most you ever lost?

Ever since I can remember I have never lose weight successfully. I have tried all kinds of diet that seems to be working on my friends but not me. I have tortured myself far too long trying to look like the models in the magazines that I now surrender to the fact that I am what I am and no matter how hard I try to lose weight it just keep adding up. But you do motivate me by your walking regime and this is the only exercise that I haven't tried so far.

With the help of gastric bypass surgery I lost 145 pounds. Had I never had the surgery it wouldn't have been possible for me to do this. I had always suffered with weight issues until I reached high school. Through those fours years I would manage my weight by starving myself at least a few days each month. This unhealthy method allowed me to maintain my weight throughout high school until I gave birth to my first child. After the birth of all three of my children I steadily gained weight until I became what they called morbidly obese. It wasn't that I was lazy or ate very large amounts. I just couldn't quit gaining weight and there was no way for me to lose it other than starvation. I would lose 20 or 30 pounds here and there and gain it plus 20 or 30 more pounds once I started eating again. So nearly three years ago I underwent gastric bypass surgery and have lost my excess weight and have kept most of it off. My weight now fluctuates within 20 pounds or so.

The only time I have ever really lost weight is after having my kids. That weight did not stay gone for too long though. I always managed to find it again pretty quickly. I actually weigh about 20 pounds more now than when my daughter was born 2 years ago.

My senior year in high school I lost around 30 pounds and was grossly underweight at 90 pounds. I was pretty much anorexic in my eating habits logging every calorie and specifically how much of everything I ate (i.e. 5 grapes, 1 bite of bread)... Very unhealthy. I'm trying to lose weight now through exercise and cutting back on my eating, it isn't as quick, but I feel much better about the weight loss that I do get and my self esteem is much better now. I think I need to lose about 30 pounds right now to get me down to 110 pounds which is about right for my height.

The most that I lost was 30 lbs. after I had my daughter. I was determined to drop those pounds. I drank a lot of water, ate healthy and those pounds dropped in about 2 months. I did not have to do much exercise either.

I lost 25 pounds last year, and I've been able to keep it off. Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping in shape, however. All my muscle has turned to mush, and although I haven't gained anything in numbers, I feel less healthy and less attractive. I've recently gotten much better about working out to try and scrape off a few extra pounds and some of this squishiness that has crept up since the big weight loss last year.

Hi moneymommy...I too lost weight on the Atkins diet! I lost only 20 pounds in 3 months. I looked so much better but as soon as I went off the diet the pounds came right back on. I'm trying to be a bit more active nowadays and limit my carbs without totally cutting them out. But it was nice to be thinner...

I think the largest amount I've ever lost at one time was 40lbs. This was using Weight Watchers. I'm still on Weight Watchers but haven't been having as much luck lately. It's my own fault though!

I lost 59 lbs 3 years ago. I was in a nursing home for 4 months and hated the food. Now I have changed to a healthier lifestyle and have kept it all off. Even lost 5 more lbs.
