i love history... i think it is what made the people of today who they are and what they have become by knowing what has happened to them in the past. i love knowing the life they encountered, the challenges of these known people... i also like to read even about places history. it is really a good thing to know about these...

WHen I was younger History bored me for some reason - I guess the being young thing :) - but then I started really enjoying it. It became one of my favorite subjects and I was very curious to learn, not as much the normal general facts, but those little known facts. It became more interesting after I actually started to understand how history - the past - affects the present and the future. And how we can look back and see many of today's issues, just in different ways.

hello, I hate history when I was still in school. But I am interested in the things of the past. I am just curious with what happened in the past. just to find out what transpired and how did those people discover so many things But at school I really hate it.

No really. I mean it is interesting but it doesn't really attract me that much. I'm more concerned about now.

I was never really interested in history when I was in school. When I was old enough to choose to specialise in a humanities subject, I picked geography. It has only been since I've left full time education that I have gradually developed an interest in history, especially political and military history. I often spend an hour or two watching the History Channel or Discovery when I have nothing else to do!

Yes vanities. I have always been wondering about the past. I find it very interesting. If only I could go back to the past and see what it was like. How it came to be and so on. In fact, some friends of mine thought that I love war movies because of the action and the violence. But actually one of the reason why I love to watch war movies is because it is part of history. Even here in our locality, I was wondering whether what the people look like and what were the things that they do before. As you can see, I am from Lapu-lapu City. The city is named after the first hero of the Philippines, Lapu-lapu, yet I have not met or there was never any person noted living here which is somehow related to lapu lapu or a person living with his bloodline. This things fascinate me and it would be a great thing to know the answer.

yes it is really interesting to know more about the past histories about the kingĀ“s and their kingdom, and about the historic builings and sculptures, dinosaurs, are all interesting for me but instead of reading i would prefer to watch it on tv like in the chanels discovery, national geographic, etc and also the videos on internet. it is somewhat an eagerness to know more about the things happened in the past and it really attracts to know more.

I've been listening to some lectures on ancient Egypt.I used to watch a lost of History channel a few years ago. For some reason, I think they are sending subliminal messages to me. It's kinda hard to explain, but History either wants me to become a man of the cloth, or Bill Murray's character from Groundhog day. You see, every time I try to watch History channel nowadays, I see the same programs on every time. Not only that, but its the same religious documentaries every time. It's like some kind of holy running gag or something. I don't find it funny at all because I think I've seen just about all of those programs three times already. If it is a subliminal message, I think their going after the wrong man. I'm not exactly what you would call a leader. If anything, I'm a reluctant loaner. I'd have no problems with being a higher up in some kind of group, but being on my own really seems like the best option for me at the moment. Yesterday, they aired a special on The Devils Bible. It features this goofy looking representation of Satan on one of the pages. I laughed at it before going to sleep. I woke up in a cold sweat after dreaming that I was being chased by by a shadowy figure who laughed like Barney the Dinosaur. I'm protesting The History Channel till further notice.

Although i think the past and history are very interesting, it isnt really my sorta thing, id be more interested in knowing about the future instead of the past, but obviously you can't see the future untill that moment really.

Yes I do.I am an avid History channel watcher. And by coincidence I am a great fan of Albert Einstein.I have many documentaries about him written in DVDs and kept.I just sit down and watch them as and when I feel like.It always interest me when some one explains the theory of relativity in his own style. Each time I understand it in a a different perspective.

Hello vanities, I don't like History subject when I was still schooling. Yeah, it's quite easy as I only have to remember the dates, the events, people's name and etc but I always felt sleepy during the class and ended up munching and gossiping about boys with my best friend.

I love history and knowing what it was like years ago. I always to talk to my grandparents about what it was like in their day. It was all so simple back then. Its always interesting to hear them talk about when my grandmother and her sister had their own business, and my mother-in-law, who I care for full time always tells me about her day too and when her kids and my hubby were growing up. They are all about the same age but my grandparents were born and reared in town and my mother-in-law and my hubby were reared in the country. I will never get fed up listening to them. :-)

The TV spends a lot of time on Discovery, TLC, and the History Channel. I get weekly emails from History and have bought several of their programs in the past. I am fascinated by many of their productions and recent history itself. I am also fascinated with ancient history. Not so much middle ages, though.

Hey vanities! I enjoy watching documentaries and reading up on things that happened in history too. I love to watch the documentaries of the history chanel. I find that getting the facts about things that happened in the past is really interesting no matter how long ago it happened! I am always open to learning new facts and have a never ending curiousity about everything! The more I can learn, the happier I am!

I'm a historical junkie! I love finding out what's under my feet when I go out for a walk, and I'm addicted to 'Time Team.' My favourite is the really old stuff, where there's very little left to see on the surface. I live near a river that has a string of moats. They are all that remains of the moated manor houses that once dotted the landscape here. I love mediaeval history. I was so proud once when I came across a rectangular earthwork where I used to live. The Surrey History society reckoned it was Roman, but I wasn't convinced. The whole area had once been royal parkland, so ... I wrote to them suggesting it was a "Park Pale" - an early mediaeval earthwork used to contain deer for hunting. I said it was probably built on the site of something older. Back came a reply saying, "You know, we've re-examined the evidence and we believe that is EXACTLY what it is!" Boy, was I the proud one that day! I also love Victorian industrial archaeology. Can't keep me away from old railway buildings.
