I just wanted to know the various types of gifts that most people like receiving. What kinds would you appreciate getting and what might disappoint you a little? And, if you were to give a present to a friend for any occasion, what ideas would you come up with? Well, I like handmade presents because it shows the time and effort put into it, which is what my friend always gave me :) What do you think? Presents handmade or bought? Just feel free to say anything (; thx

Anything. As long it is from my friend. I am not that materialistic though. As long whatever the thing is, I will keep it.

I'm not much keen on what I need to receive. Becasue anything given as gift makes me feel happy. But when I get a gift that can be treasured, I really adore it. I dont prefer giving or recieving gifts that any one can use it in a day to day life. (like perfume or cosmetic). Because once used it vanishes off. A thing that can be kept as rememberance and can be remembered for ever is what I prefer. (Something like a show piece/wall hanging. Or some useful electronics that stay for a longer time)

Yeah, I think the same way. I'd usually want something that would last, even just a card i could read over and over again. :)

I'd prefer a gift that will be of a lot of benefit to me. I mean I can use the gift for everyday use. I hate a gift that doesn't function anything. What do you think?

Well, even if the gift had no use to me, I would still appreciate it. It's enough for me to know that they thought of giving something to me, and whatever they choose to give me, I'll still treasure it.

Hi unlucky Lots of people like receiving gifts especially on special occasions like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc. I do, too, but I don't really think about what kind of gift I'm going to receive but I always think that the important thing is that the giver had put a lot of effort and thought in choosing the gift for me. No matter how small or big, expensive or not, I still appreciate the fact that the giver had thought of giving a present for me...

I love everything they gave me as the gift. There is a saying"give your friends the things that you like most as a gift" No matter the gift is big or small, if it shows the cares and loves, then that means a lot to me! What a gift! Wish all me friends best!

I'm terrible at making things so for me, I guess just a nice card, with some nice thoughtful writing would be nice. It's not expensive, and you could really express your feelings. I put them away in a suitcase to preserve them and when I travel and need to pack, I will go through them and remind myself of what a terrific bunch of people I have been blessed with in my life.

cool, I totally agree with that :)Simple cards are one of the best gifts to recieve because you get to read the good things they write to and about you. Plus, it takes thought to write cards. While reading cards, somehow, a smile always appears on my face. =) Re-reading it, would still make me smile.

I want something I could display and get me reminded of her friendship. It can be a figurine, a mug, an angel, a little painting or whatever as long as it would last the way our frienship do.

I am very fond and as a matter of fact collecting Hello Kitty stuff. My friends know that and they always give me Hello Kitty stuff to add to my collection. They say that it's good that they know I am collecting these stuff because it makes easier for them to buy me gifts.

I like flowers. It doesn't matter if they come from the store or have been freshly cut from their own flower garden. I enjoy gifts that they have made themselves, because they obviously put a lot of thought, time and effort into the gift. One year my sister in law made me some potholders in one of my favorite colors..."hunter green" My brother made me a coffee table, which I love so very much. I do enjoy almost any gift that my family gives me, because they had to put thought into the gift. My daughter recently gave me a gift card to my favorite department store. I love that too. I can use the money to purchase a new outfit or buy some flowers for my flower garden. One gift is not any better than the other, it just shows that they know me and know my likes and dislikes. My Mom gave me a gift of my favorite perfume from Avon...she knows me well enough to know that I love Odyssey perfume. It's nice when your family is listening to you and they know your likes and dislikes.

cool. I guess it really depends on a person's intrests. Even if they bought it, you know they put thought into what they should get you, especially if you wanted that certain something for quite some time already, because you know that they actually have been listening to you. Or even if you havent said anything, and they still get you what you wanted, it shows how well they know you already :)

As far as I am concerned, there are 2 kinds of gifts - practical ones and gifts that come from the heart. The first gift which is appreciated because it can always be used is a gift card. Getting a gift you have no use for is worse than getting nothing at all - especially if you are opening up in front of the individual who gave it to you. Try looking pleased at a label maker or something like that - remember Seinfeld! A gift card you can always use and pick out exactly what you want. To me it also shows concern that you want the person to get what they want. A sentimental gift shows love. The person gifting spent their time and used their talents to make something special for you. That is impressive, espcially in this day and age. I have several gifts which I have gotten from a friend of mine which she made. They will be with me for the rest of my life. Neither one are bad. Money always comes in handy. Consider who is giving it.

i thinks its not important how much the gift is costly important is that with what feelings your friend give this gift to you, even i had received many gifts in my life some of these are very much costly but i know people had given me the gifts by keeping one desire in there mind that they will also get better if they will give to me

I would like to receive anything from a friend. Even the smallest thing would be great if they gave it with love to us. Once I received a hairbrush from a friend. It wasn't something extravagant to be given as a gift, but I know why she gave it to me. She knew that I always have problems with my hair during the windy day, and I don't have hairbrush in my purse. So she bought me a small hair brush so that I would be able to use it whenever I want and it was small enough so I can put it in my purse everyday. What a gift...

well, I don't want to be choosy but if there gonna give me something, I would appreciate it. and it's best if i received it from a friend rather than a stranger. but Since my hubby is also my friend, i prefer to receive something special from him besides flowers. maybe his kiss and hug and spend the night with me. think that will do.

Well, I prefer gifts in form of money, so I can buy something I want. Or save it for a future use.
