Do you think to much sugar can cause an anxiety attack?

Without a doubt, too much sugar can cause all sort of problems because if our blood sugar gets to high, there is going to be a trough later on. I only know this because I have a problem metabolising sugar. I am not a diabetic, but used to be addicted to sweet foods. My dietician at the time said that we don't need any refined sugar at all, and it's only best to eat the sweeter fruits like bananas and peaches etc. when they grow naturally, and then in strict moderation. I didn't think I would be healthy banning all sugar from my diet, but I did in fact become healthier.
When I used to eat a lot of sugar, I used to feel like a shaking and weakness inside and when I quit, that symptom disappeared completely. - Derek

Thanks, I probally should stay away from sugar. I try to on most days but I made a cake for my family and it looked so good I wanted a bite.

With me, sugar is normally the culprit when an anxiety attack sneeks up. That or caffiene. My mom told me anything super sugary or with caffiene in it triggers anxiety attacks, and theyre not fun. When i was working at movie gallery, i ate a candy bar for breakfast, and the next thing i knew i was fraking out, in the bathroom on the floor spazzing out and throwing up, trying to breathe. But ive learned since then what i can and cant do. It takes a while to get them under control, but as long as you have sugar in small portions you should be okay.

I think a poor diet can contribute to your feelings of anxiety, or maybe heighten the feelings. I'm not sure if it actually would "cause" it.
