I was watching TV with my dad and my brother. I saw the plane go into the buliding and I thought it was a movie I did not know it was on the news. Than when I realized what it was I was really scared. I was also pregnant at the time. I actually had my daughter a few days later. So where were you on that day? let me know thanks.

I was asleep. The phone rang and because the tv was on I saw the pictures as I was answering the call of someone wanting to know if I had heard about what had happened. It was pretty amazing. I have a lot of friends who live in NY.

I was at work when it happened. Our boss called everyone to the tv room to watch it on the news special . It was scary ! What I remember the most is going outside afterward. There was not a plane or jet in the sky .

I am sorry you lost a friend in the whole thing. I know it is hard and I am not sure what to say, this was a day in history that many of us will not forget.

I was working at home and only had one of those tiny portable TVs at the time. My son stopped by on his way to work and told me what was going on. I went online to try to find news about it, but had to dig out the little TV anyway. It was awful.

It was and for a week that was the only thing on TV too. That bothered me even more that I had to keep seeing what happened over and over again. thanks for responding.

I remember September 11th, 2001 very vividly and honestly I think it is a day I and many others will never forget as well. I was working Swing Shift so for me to be up is not a normal thing for sure. But I remember my husband coming in and saying one of the Towers was on fire, and I was thinking he was joking and he said something about he thinks a plane hit it. So out of curiousity I climb out of bed and go watch the TV just as the second plane hits the 2nd tower. I was like in shock and could not quit watching the TV and praying for the many people who were in those buildings. Then when the buildings crumbles I was mesmorized for sure, and I know it will never be the same. I had a chance a yr. ago September to go to Ground Zero and see it for myself and what a place that is, and the eerie feelings still there as well. This is truly a day we will never forget, but I think have become a lot stronger because of it as well.

Man I know what you mean about seeing that plane hit the building. Like I had said I thought it was a movie because my dad or brother was surfing the channels. I can not believe that I saw the plane hit the buliding. Anyway I do feel we are stronger but it is such a shame that so many people lost their lives. Take care and thanks for responding to this discussion.

My daughter was also pregnant on Sept.11th. She and her family were living here at the time. We had just sent the children off to school on the bus. I always watch the news in the morning for weather insight as well as the news from day to day. it was awful we both sat here watching and crying all day. We also found out hat the children had talked about it in school so we had to do damage control with them when they came home. Blessings to all that had family there at the buildings and the ones that were there.

I was in high school at a boarding school and was in a morning assembly with the entire student body. We had a lot of students from New York City, or whose parents worked there. The deans pulled aside those students that might have a relative there, and let them know what had happened privately, so that they had time to call loved ones and find out more information. The rest of us were told at the end of the assembly and were put on lock down in the school for the remainder of the day where we were allowed to watch media coverage or meet with professors or counselors to discuss what was going on. Students who lived off campus nearby were excused from the lock down if their parents chose to come and pick them up. It was a crazy day, and I'll never forget it... It's still hard to wrap my mind around what happened, even now after almost a decade.

I was sleeping at that time, beacuse i work in night shifts so i woke up in the mid evening, after that i went to market to buy something. The shopkeeper who knows me very well he told me about the insident, i was really shoked at that time. I came back at my home and watched the news, a plane crashed or hit the W.T.O building, i was in hurry to get ready for my shift so i switched off my television and went to office, in office i got the complete information about the same.

I think I was at work when I heard about it from my boss. At first I didnt get what they were talking about until I went home and check on the news. It was very shocking to me since it was caught on video. I hope it would never happen again.

I was still in the Philippines that time and I was in my job. It was in one of the remote provinces in Mindanao and we did not had any quic access to the world news and so I only learned about it by the weekend when we went down to the office in the city and it was the talk-of-the-town and headlines in the news. I even met a guy online from Florida who was one of the rescuers and fire fighters that time and he told me how it wa actually happened as he witnessed all of it; was so scary.

I was at work and I was listening to the radio in my office... that day is still very vivid in my mind as I stayed at work all day...the parents of kids in school all left to get there kids that day and a few of us stayed until the end of the day....my radio station stayed on all day and kept reporting what was going on...no music, just news about the timelines and what was going on... on the way home that day from work the streets were near empty...I had lived 40 minutes away from my work and I didnt have a long commute that day... and the gas stations were full because they said the next day gas was going to 4.00 a gal and it was 1.69 that day around us... and many stations went up to 1.89 and scared everyone into filling their tanks... that is what I remember most about that day.

I live on the West Coast and I had to work that morning so I didn't have the t.v. or radio on while rushing around getting ready for work. After I'd been at work for about 20 minutes, someone came up to me and a co-worker and told us that 2 planes had crashed into the Twin Towers. We were all in shock and afraid. I was totally worried because my step-brother worked in one of the towers. Thank God, he was running late that morning and wasn't at work when the terrorist struck. Everyone was afraid of what was going to happen next. I lived near a local county airport and Boeing has their largest facility here. It was so strange not hearing any planes flying in or out for the next few days. Definitely was a scary time!

You know, I don't think that anybody thought that it was really happening upon first sight.. I sure as hell didn't. I was in seventh grade, and my science teacher had the most panic-stricken look on her face, it was enough to silence a room full of middle school teenagers.. I don't think that I'll ever forget that look.. She told us all to take our seats, and then she began to tell us what had happened, stressing the point that it was not fiction, that this attack was really going on, as we spoke. I was in absoulte confusion.. my eyes were glued to the television screen. I couldn't believe it, even though it was happening right before my eyes.. and then.. I saw the second plane hit.. my jaws dropped, and my eyes widened. I wanted to cry, I really did.. I was crushed. There were so many people in those towers.. they did absolutely nothing wrong. They didn't deserve to die.. and, I'll never forget just how empty I felt. I still feel it.. even now.

I was in Italy and I tried to get a hold of my father who at that time was in detroit michingan. It took me a while before I was able to get a hold of him but eventually I was able to talk to him. I woke him up practically as he was not working that day and he almost hung the phone on me. Then after he turned on the TV he was really stunned. I was too for that matter.

I was home sleeping because I work at night. My sister called and told me to turn on the news. It was an unforgettable feeling that I am sure we will not forget. It was an interesting time. I live near a military installation which was completely shut down to the public as soon as it happened. The road that leads to the installation was backed up with traffic that seemed to not move at all. I live on this road and could not get anywhere with the car for a while. To get to work, I walked into town a bit and had someone pick me up.

I was at home, the kids had just left for school. Husband had the tv on think they broke in with the story.. could not believe seeing planes hitting the towers. seemed like the rest of the day was eerily quiet.
