When I was a kid, I had this selective mutation (self-diagnosed! lol!). I was a very shy kid way back that time. I didn't usually talk to people, even with our relatives that are from other places, I was too shy to talk with them. I only talk to people inside our house and a few from outside.
And one of the most memorable experience I had was that I literally didn't recite in class from kindergarten until grade 3. Every time my teacher called me to recite, I didn't speak up. But thank God to written examinations, I usually got high grades that's why the school didn't kick me out! lol!
What made me recite in the class? I was in Grade 3 and my father asked me for a birthday gift, he wanted me to recite in the class before his birthday, even at least just for once. I thought I was gonna faint when he asked me that! haha!
Time came for me to grant my father's birthday wish. I was sitting in the class one morning, listening to what my teacher's saying, until she suddenly called me to recite (Yeah, my teachers kept calling me to recite even if they knew that I'm not gonna answer anyway! haha!).
That moment, it was like my world had stopped, I didn't know what to do. My shyness kept me seated on my chair but my mind was telling me to stand up and recite, to fulfill my father's birthday wish. There was an odd silence inside the room. I felt like everyone's eyes were on me, waiting for what am I gonna do next.
A few more moments passed then I suddenly stood up. All eyes were still on me.
Up until now I can't remember anymore what I exactly said, what the question was or what subject was it, but all I could remember was that, right after I recited, the whole class APPLAUDED! Damn! I felt like that was the hardest thing I did in my entire life! hahaha!
Looking back to it, it makes me smile everytime I remember that day. That's one of the things I was thankful I did. I haven't totally overcome my shyness, but none of my friends now and new people that I meet believe that I am still a shy woman! lol!
How about you? What's one childhood experience that you will never forget and will make you look back and smile everytime you remember it?
HAPPY MYLOTTING GUYS! =)

Yes! It is a great feeling when we think of our childhood days and laugh at some moments. I love my childhood which really gave me a platform to become a self standing person.
I am from a poor background, we used to face a lot of problems for daily routine. We used to starve sometimes if we don't earn enough money for food for the day. I started my earning ventures that time only. I learnt fighting spirit from my mother. She taught me a lot about how to live and live honestly, sincerely and with self hard efforts. I used to learn in school as well as earn in the evenings to live my life. It is a great moments to recollect and everytime it comes to my mind, it makes me smile and I get more energy to fight on this battleground of life!
Many more moments to cherish, but this is a very small environment to share everything.!

As a kid, I am shy as well. But not as shy as you were before. I do recite in class if the teacher calls me, (that is if I know the answer.) Hehe! My childhood memory that really makes me smile is kinda nasty. Hehe! I am shy like I said, but not too shy. I talk, but I am often quiet. I did not gave my nanny a hard time taking care of me. I am well behaved, not like other kids that keeps on running, playing etc. Whenever my nanny needs to do something else, she'll just give me something to eat (often times its my favorite fruit salad), then lets me sit on our sofa, turns the TV on and tune in to my favorite kiddie TV Show (Batibot, hehe.) Then my nanny can do the rest of chores that she needs to finish. As I was watching and eating my fruit salad, I felt something in my stomach. Its as if I want to release something. Ahaha! I want to make "pupu" (that's what I call it as a kid). But, I was scared of doing it because I don't like to see my "pupu". For me its so gross. So I did my best not to release my pupu. (Imagine me doing the best that I could to prevent it from being released. Haha!). But I can't hold on to it anymore so instead of going straight to the comfort room, I went straight under our stairs, still with my underwear on, then since I can't hold on to it anymore, it was released. And I was crying because I don't like to see it. Then my nanny, went to me and saw what happened then she laughs her heart out. I was 7 yrs old when it happens. And its really embarrassing. Ugh! Hehehe! It made me smile because after what had happened, I learned my lesson quick. The next day, I released my pupu in the comfort room without my underwear on! Success! Hahaha!

Well, it wasn't when I was a child, it was when I was adult, my boyfriend gave me a picture of Captain Picard and Riker from Star Trek: NG. It was a hand drawn picture. Beautiful. It is hung over my bed. When I was a child, my uncle used to have a picture of Picard and Riker in his room, and I used to dream that Picard was my father. I always wanted him to be.

Hmmm... I'm honestly not a Star Trek fan, so what characteristics do you see in him that makes you want him to be your father?

Picard is smart, has the voice of awesomeness, and he is charming. He is the kind of man that commands attention.
