So last night I was presented with a great opportunity to work at home but I'm not sure if I really want to take the risk. I sat online until almost 2 in the morning researching this company to make sure they are not a scam, and I found a lot of articles from people bad-mouthing the company, but far many more good comments about their products and services. I just don't know what to do. It would allow me to be home with my daughter if I choose...although probably not right away. It would take some work to get it off the ground, but I would be willing.
What do you all think?

It's really entirely up to your own decision. It's good that you do some research and all those before jumping in. Probably you would also want to know more details about the product and what are the compensation plan and if it is a MLM thing or not.
If you can share what the product is or what the company name is, maybe we all here in mylot can help. Probably some of us may be already heard or know about this company and can easily tell you if it is a genuine business or a scam.

nowadays there are aslo some people working for the scam company to issue fake information on the internet. so the problem is how to distinguish the real news from the fake information. none of us can make sure there are no such persons in mylot.

I been working from home for 5 years with my own online marketing business, so yeah there are some legit sites and there are some sites which promise you the earth,
2 things to consider -
1) if it seems too good to be true then it prob is, like i earned 20k in a month you can too type of sites.
2) if it asks for anyform of upfront payment even $1 stay well clear.
Hope this helps, and all companies have got good and bad reports online.

I will agree with a responder here that when they will ask you for some money, ignore them...
I always tried to look for that stuff also but I am scared to be scammed! I hope you will be able to talk to someone who can testify that they are legit....

It's a great opportunity to work at home. I've been wanting to have some in the future. It will save you a lot of time and look after your family. I think it is worth trying but be sure that it is not a scam and they will not ask you to invest a huge amount of money. Sleep on it. Hope you choose the right decision.

The choice is up to you to work or not.If the company is big then their products will be good and it won't close down fast. Here there are two companies which sell products direct through home and not through shops. My friend was a part of it and he used to sell my items at discounted rates.Be careful about a scam company because people will not buy products and you will waste time.

If they ask you for any money to get started with I'd avoid it like the plague, but if it requires nothing from you but your effort, you'd have nothing to lose and should give it a shot IMHO. If it turns out to be not so great, you've lost nothing but some time and can move on. Good luck to you, whatever you choose.

If you tell me the site name or product I could probably tell you. Also if they are asking for money upfront to get started its probably a scam. At least I know from experience. I paid $50.00 for typing at home and received nothing for it. When I tried to get my money back they ignored my request. I've seen on 20/20 they say if they are asking for any amount of money to run from it. Good Luck!

You have to be careful what you get into, I tried that SMC, well it is easy to send the $25. but then you are on your own. they will sit you up with a free website, but they only put 6 items on it, a real web site with them cost over $400.00 and then you have to pay each month to run it. They dont' tell you that till you are in. So be sure that you know what you are getting into before you put out any money,we would all like to work from home, but I have looked till I'm blue for something that is legit.

Depends. If there is an up-front investment to work with this company it's probably in scammy territory. If it's not very well-known it puts you at a bigger risk. If it asks for too much information up-front that might be something you should worry about as well.
If you want, you can always check out my profile and look at my blog link. I talk about a whole bunch of legitimate free online opprotunities i've did extensive research into which should help you to make more then enough money working from home. I also know some more I didn't mention in the blogs as they were kind of offtopic to my blog, so if you want to hear about them just send a PM my way!

If you do not need to pay money to join, just try it for a week or so. It may be a good opportunity.
If the company asks for money, better treat it as scam. I dont see the logic of paying in order to earn money. After all, when we work in a company, our employer pays us for the work done. No employee will pay the employer for giving them the job.

Working from home is a very good option. I actually am also on the same boat as you. But as I weigh things out, there are more positive effects to me doing my work at home than not. One of my main concern is actually my health. As a call center agent I have to work at night when it is daytime in the US. I guess you know how important sleep is and it's simply too difficult to ignore.
With your situation, I suggest that you also evaluate it first. The reliability of the company, the options you have, and a contingency plan is highly recommended if things don't turn out as expected. It is better to be prepared than to be left in limbo.

I think you should not take risk if they are asking you to deposit any amount as I have done such things before and now I am regretting for it as even though its review was good it was a fake site and I earned nothing and simply wasted my money. So never trust on online sites which tells you to pay before joining.

Search engines or fourms are the only way to find it out. people on the net are your mirror, they tell you what is right and what is not as somewhere someone would have joined the site and had a experience, either good or bad. You too can check it yourself. just open whois.com site and put a address of the site. it will show you the complete info of the site. the owner, the address and the day it started. this can also will be helpful to you.

It seems like there are lots of working at home things out there and they all sound like interesting that you can work at home. But who knows which one is real and which one is fake? I always wish I could work at home too but I don't know where to find the way. I hope you have done good research of the company and earn some good! :-)

Hi neisy and welcome to mylot... I'm also trying to stay home with my son and trying to find something online that is not a scam is difficult. However the one thing I have heard is that no legitimate company will ask you for money or anything else that personal. Good luck to you and I hope you find something legit!
