Nice to see how respectful the media is when it's Biden's children.

Now I know the die-hard and blind liberals out there still claim there's no media bias. This is for the people with more than empty air between their ears. Have you all noticed the way the media won't touch this story about Joe Biden's daughter? I'm sure we can all agree they are doing the right thing and they shouldn't be rewarding the jerk trying to sell the tape. The children of our elected leaders should be left alone. Now let's press rewind. Don't worry, we don't have to go too far back to see how children are treated when their parents are republicans. Only two weeks ago ABC News sent their team to Alaska to harass, excuse me, get an "exclusive interview" with Levi Johnston over his breakup with Bristol Palin. They blocked his truck as he was leaving for work, and "interviewed" him through his window about the breakup. No crime involved, no wrongdoing, just a teenager with a breakup and he's subject to this harassment. Why hasn't one single liberal objected to this? http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/story?id=7089090&page=1 I could also point out all the crap Bristol Palin got from the left, especially the liars and hate-mongers at DailyKos, whose convention Obama attended and who he continues to defend. We could also look at the way the media treated Bush's daughters in the early years of his presidency. They rushed to write every story they could when the two were caught underage drinking. Even 7 years later, in 2008 when Jenna Bush was getting MARRIED, MSNBC just couldn't help themselves and had to talk about it again. "Jenna, the 22nd child of a president to marry while their fathers were in office, has come a ways from her dad's first year in office when she had a run-in with the Texas law for underage drinking. It was her second offense." http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/24487293/ I guess only the children of democrats deserve to be treated with respect. If you're parent is a republican, you'd best get ready for a rough ride. They'll do everything they can to smear you, even going to things you did 7 years ago.

I for one am glad to see this not being a media slam, it is the way it should be,even fox really hasn't touhced it, to their credit. but like you pointed out, had this been one of the Palin kids, it would be an every 15 minutes story, propbably with constinuous loops of video being played over and over.

It's not just Fox News. Even the right wing blogs aren't attacking Biden. They are simply attacking the media for unfair treatment. That actually surprises me most as I thought some would want payback for the way the Palins were treated.

I have to disagree with you there.I am neither democratic or republican.I simply vote for whoever I think that can do the job.The Kennedy's are democrats. And the media was always there when John Jr. failed his bar exams, rode his bike, walked down the street and it was not exactly in a straight line, spoke to a woman after he got married.Heard everytime any kid in that family did anything! We always heard about Amy Carter and the Clinton's daughter as well.

Amy Carter only made the news when she did something "cute". Anytime anyone mentioned Chelsea in a bad light, the press went postal on them. The press declared Open Season on the Bush Twins. The Obama kids are strictly off limits. On the other hand, no lie is to sleazy for the vultures in the incompetent press to proclaim from the rooftops about Bristol Palin (or Sarah Palin for that matter). The press loves to molest republican kids in print... don't be caught enjoying watching it.

Show me an example of the main stream media doing this and no, the enquirer doesn't count.

Of course they are going ot give Biden's kids a pass, he never broke the 1 for getting on the good side of liberals.. being pro abortion. The last election campaign exposed the left for the heartless, inhuman, unethical wonks they have always been.

Well yeah. So long as you don't oppose abortion you can stay in their good graces. If you really want to be a leader though you have to push abortion at every opportunity including taking away parental rights. We can see how that's worked out for Obama and Pelosi.

I sure hope you're not implying I'm one of those people with nothing but empty air between my ears...lol! For what it's worth, I haven't always agreed with the choices some in the media have made when it comes to reporting about politicians' children and other families, regardless of which party they belonged to. I was away and didn't know anything about ABC News sending reporters to Alaska to interview - or harass, if you prefer - Levi Johnston following Bristol's announcement that they had broken up. To me that's just plain silly. I suppose ABC would justify this story by saying it was Bristol Palin herself who had announced the break-up so they were simply doing a follow-up on her remarks. I didn't see her interview(s) either, for what it's worth. However, I'm surprised you don't see the difference between that story and the troubles of the Bush daughters and this current rumor about V.P. Biden's daughter. The latter is quite possibly a scam and it would seem to me that the media is doing the smart thing in not touching it. I'm sure they don't want to be sued for slander. It's not secret that I'm a viewer of MSNBC but I don't think it was necessary for them to bring up Jenna Bush's past "indiscretions" when reporting on her marriage. That was a cheap shot, there's no two ways about it. However, the Bush twins were the first "First Daughters" of their age group in a long time, at least upon entering the White House. To compare them to the much younger Obama daughters, Amy Carter or Chelsea Clinton is like comparing apples to oranges. Put me down as one liberal who believes all children of political figures deserve to be treated with respect. Annie

To me that's just plain silly. I suppose ABC would justify this story by saying it was Bristol Palin herself who had announced the break-up so they were simply doing a follow-up on her remarks." The issue with that is that it was NOT an interview. When Bristol Palin spoke with Greta Van Susteren, that was an interview she chose to do. Levi Johnston was stopped as he was trying to go to work, in his truck, being physically blocked from driving away, and questioned through his window. That's not an interview by any stretch of the imagination. There may be a difference in the reasons each were stories, but I'm certainly not buying any excuse about them being the first "First Daughters" of their age group. Besides, Chelsea was 20 by the end of the Clinton presidency and Gore's daughters were in their late teens, early 20's. I know the media doesn't have all the facts, but that didn't stop them from immediately running the story on the Bush daughters. That was plastered all over the news the night it happened. It's also the first time I've heard of someone calling 9-11 when a 20 year old has a margarita.

“All” of the stupid gossip mongers should shut up, when it comes to the children of any of the candidates, Presidnets, or congressional people. What I’d love to see happen, is that every time one of these hypocrites start their ignorant smearing tactics, is for something to come out about “their” secret sins and “their” kid’s short-comings. The majority of the media world wide, is as crokked as a dog’s hind leg. They refuse to publish much of anything that is good or that’ll make you glad that you read their story - - but let something bad happen, and they salivate while sitting at their computers, typing up the story and adding a few thoughts of their own on it – of course being “spin.” Journalism in our time now, is in the great white porcelain convenience!

I think it needs to be an all or nothing rule. Either cover them all or don't cover any of them. I seem to remember Palin's daughter getting all kinds of stones chucked at her over the whole preganancy thing and even her son who is mentally challenged was raked over the coals as being neglected while his mother ran with McCain. Her daughter's break up was all over the news...like no one else ever breaks up. It does seem like they tend to pick on one side. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

You know I've actually been surfing right wing blogs to see if they are behaving the way scumbags did at liberal sites like DailyKOS or Huffington Post. It just isn't happening. All I can find are a bunch of people complaining that the media attacked Bristol Palin, but won't touch this story with a 39 1/2 foot pole. Not one of these sites are attacking Joe Biden's parenting over it. The best I could find are a few scattered comments on the web, but even they are more focused on the comparative treatment. I won't say everyone on the left is a hypocrite though. I'm sure there are a handful of them scattered out there that are fair.

You must be exactly right, because I don't have a clue what Biden's children did.

I was just sitting here wondering that myself. I haven't heard anything in the news about it. What did Biden's kid(s) do? Taskr36 is absolutely correct in his assessment of the news media. I remember when Bush's daughter got into that trouble Taskr36 spoke of. NO ONE in the civilized world had to ask what she did. It was all over the news. However, I have heard nothing of what Biden's child has done and I watch CNN and other news shows almost daily. I have been watching CNN all morning, and I don't think they have mentioned Biden or his family at all.

Hi taskr...So let me get this straight...no matter what you do as a Democrat it's ok? I see now... I don't believe the children should be under such scrutiny at all. I'm sure it's difficult enough to be in the public spotlight. However the discrepancy in treatment is hard to miss!

Well you are allowed to smear the children of republicans because it's not YOUR fault you're smearing them. It was Sarah Palin's fault her daughter and two of her sons have been smeared in the media. It's her fault that Levi Johnston has been smeared by the media as well. See how that works? How many times did you hear liberals say it was her fault for "Parading her children" at the RNC?

Oh please. Everybody is always angry at everyone else. I am neither Democrat nor Republican, but I think that people on both sides are being completely immature about everything. If this huge separation between parties keeps up, nothing will get done and America will continue to spiral out of control and get nowhere fast. It's ignorant to blame everything on one party. We all just need to get along and try to make this a better place instead of constantly pointing fingers at the other side. Everybody in the government is acting like children. "They started it!" "They're looking at me!" "Even though this plan does a lot to appeal to both sides, I say NO because it's not all about ME ME ME!" Mellow. Out.

So, in other words, you don't care if children are attacked by the media. Your rant does nothing to address that so I can only extrapolate that you hate political parties and don't care about the children of politicians or the smears against them.
