I have made them before, from scratch, but most of the time I buy a box of pancake mix and use that instead. Last night I bought a box of the premade frozen mini pancakes for my son for breakfast. He always wants pancakes when I don't have time to make them. Between him and his sister this morning they ate about half the box though.

Weird Question.
Who hasn't? I mean we all make them don't we.
Like on Pancake day, majority of us have them on that day and besides I make pancakes like twice a month in the morning for breakfast or just for lunch when I am hungry.

I have never made homemade pancakes even thought it sounds simple and easy. I just see that buying the box of Bisquick or any other boxed pancake brand sounds a little easier to deal with that having a lot more to clean up. I will have to try making homemade pancakes one day. I will have to look up the recipe and i should enjoy baking some more now that I'm home with not so much to do besides going on ciao and mylot.

Ah yes! I have made homemade pancakes and also had the experience of the baking powder. Just a good stir of the dry ingredients will take care of that. Isn't it amazing how easy it is to do from scratch? I think we have had too many things done for us so that we can't experience the fun ourselves. I love to add fruits and/or nuts to my pancakes. There is nothing like pure maple syrup to pour over the top.

The fruits and the nuts sound good. I may add some next time. Pure Maple syrup would be excellent!

I used to make pancakes from scratch but I also bought Krusteaz pancake mix because it's cheap! When you mix up the pancakes from scratch, let the batter set for a few minutes, then mix gently again and that will give the dry ingredients a chance to soak up the liquid so there won't be lumps of anything. Not even baking powder. ;)

I used to make homemade pancakes all the time. I always thought they tasted better than the boxed mix kind. They were always a little too salty for me. Mine are less salty and fluffier! A mouthful of baking powder is a definite yuck! LOL

Yes I think they are much better then the boxed kind. I dont add salt to mine so they are not salty at all.

Hi there moneymommy!
I do make homemade pancakes once in a while. It's not really that difficult. Plus, homemade pancakes are definitely better than those that we get to buy outside. Moreover, I prefer pancakes that are mixed by me than those that are instant pancakes.

Nope I have never made homemade pancakes. I rarely make the ones out of the box as it is. For some reason, my kids like waffles instead of pancakes... so if I make them it's just hubby and I that will eat them. And I'll still have to find something else to feed the kiddo's.

Hi moneymommy...Yes I have made homemade pancakes..I just find it easier to add water to the box mix and add apple bits or blueberries or whatever I want extra in them
A mouthful of baking powder eh?...Have you started to rise yet? I have also done that before. I have done it with a different recipe and baking soda..YUCK!...But maybe that explains why I always thought I was overweight! I just puffed up from the baking soda!..Thanks for making my day!..

yes I have made homemade pancakes my grandmother taught be how but we always used brodie xxx self raising flour so we never needed baking powder. I rarely eat pancakes now, so I don't much care anymore.

I love homemade pancakes! I make them for my entire family - about 60 people - at our reunions. I make plain ones, some with blueberry and some with straberries. My mom likes to put apples in hers too. OH, now I'm hungry for pancakes :)

Most of my hotcakes I had were homemade. Oh I call crepes, pancakes. As for the former, I use my own recipe and I sour the milk, and use a little baking soda, along with the baking powder, and sometimes I will mix in rolled oats and half whole wheat flour. But you have to be careful to only use a little baking soda and to make sure you use a stainless steel frying pan,and make sure it's hot.

I use to a long time ago but as of late I've been lazy and the fact you can get generic pancake mix for a dollar is more convienant than making the pancakes from scratch however i do add bananas and blue berries to the mix for a bit of variety.

My kids and husband love when I make homemade pancakes!! For the kids I smash a couple of bananas and add them to the batter and they go crazy for them. My husband Likes when I add vanilla to the batter. The recipe on the back of the Bisquik box is good but I usually just use the one straight out of the cookbook and they always come out good. If I have time I make extra and freeze them and the kids can have them again during the week.

yes that is all i do make now .i use to buy the store premade ones for my triplets and then one day i made home made ones because i thought it would be cheaper and sure enough my little guys do not like store bought ones any more and only want home made . it is a little more work but cost less money so i guess that is ok.
