Do you have a dog? Which is your favorite dog? I think most dogs understand us when we talk to them.

I like Jack Russell dogs and I am going to try to get one sometime this year. I want a short legged, short haired Jack Russell dog. Yeah, I do think they understand us they are pretty smart. And even more so when they are trained. I feel that dogs are worth the trouble they sometimes cause..

Yep, unconditionally too most times. Nothing better then when they see you they do their little puppy dog happy dance and wiggle their tails so hard you don't know how they remain standing..lol Definitely a plus to having a dog.

I also agree with you. Most people love conditionally expecting them back, but our pets and dogs love us unconditionally.

Tibetan dog - Tibetan dog is from Tibet
I like bigger dogs much more. My favorite breed of dog is the Tibetan dog. I think they look great and they are very powerful. They can guard you and they are quite faithful. They are very smart dog. I have heard that they are the only one kind of dog which can fight with lions. I think dogs can understand us. As long as you treat your dogs well. I love China

Yep I have a puppers of doom he is about a yr and 4 months old. My favorite breed is a Siberian Husky which is the type of dog I have. I don't think that they understand what we say but that they understand the emotion in our voice and i think that they are generally intelligent and look for certian expressions.

I think dogs deserve more credit than most people are willing to give. Just because dogs can't speak our language (though we had 2 and my mom still has 1 dashound that cries mama and I love you, plain a day) doesn't mean they don't understand what we are saying. Just think... if they can tell when we are emotional in any way or when we are sick, leaving them, etc. How can you honestly say that they can't unterstand what we are saying? They do not understand to the extent that we do but you try carrying on a conversation with your dog and see if they don't react and try to respond in a way of acting happy, sad, loving, running for cover, etc. you don't have to change your tone! More people need to build closer relationships with their dogs. Don't talk at them, talk to them and take the time to see how they respond. I can ask my dogs if they want to go to a friend of mines house and they will get extremely excited and run back and forth between me and the door. They just want to go see their other doggy friends! I can tell them that they can't eat until the settle down and sit down, it isn't ready yet. I will ask who wants chicken, hamburger, porkchop, etc. and one dog will signal for the one they want, they sit in the order of Sady on left, Rockstar in the middle and Dixie Bell on the right. They know exactly what's going on, they are capable of learning many things, they are just all different depending on how they were brought up. If you take the time to understand your dogs, then you will notice that they understand you too!

My favourite type of dog is labrador, I think they are a type of very intelligent dog, they listen to human and they get the commands pretty quick. I believe they understand what we talk.

That is a tough question because different dogs have so many different traits. I know for certain that dogs understand us when we talk to them because of the way some dogs have reacted in my presence to general conversation as opposed to a command they have been trained to respond to. I have also seen some dogs try and talk back, lol!

I think I like Siberian Husky because they are said to be the most intelligent dogs. By "intelligent" of course we mean that they are the easiest to train. I think that dogs can somewhat understand people - they know the smell of our moods and that is why they seem to know when we're down and they tend to make us feel better by snuggling and the like. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Yes i do have a dog. My favorite dog is Moochie who is a mixed Dachshund. I think he do understand me because he run away everytime i'm mad. It means he is scared of me. Lol! He is pretty much an emotional dog so i do appreciate his being loveable to me and my family.

I do not presently have a dog though I do want one. And yes, I know they understand us. When you yell for the dog to come to you...they come. We teach them tricks, so they have to understand what we want them to do. They might be able to understand a conversation between two people, but I know they can sense when we are sad or happy. Dogs have intuition just like people. They are smart and they can find their way home if they are lost. Dogs are very smart, some dogs are smarter than others.

I have a pug, my first dog ever. My favorite dog is pug too, I like pugs best. I think most dogs can feel their owners' feelings, and some of the brilliant dogs understand what their owners' meaning too. My pug is stupid but cute, I guess he only knows 70% of what I talk to him. Happy myLotting~
