I am on a roll

April 3, 2009 7:52am CST
I have been writing for both Helium and Associated Content all morning, completing two articles for each site already. I am working on a third article now, and then its time to get ready for work tonight. I am hoping work is quiet so that I can write a few more articles. Do you find when you start writing you cannot stop?? How many articles do you write each day?

I'm pleased to know you are having such a productive day. I do have days like that. I can get several articles written on some days, but on other days I don't even complete a single one. I think it is your obvious enthusiasm that gives you more motivation to keep writing. I hope to have time to keep writing while you are on a roll.

Yes I did get payments from GPFU. I was disappointed though. All my blogs have been in the top 10, but even the one that is in the most profitable list paid very little last month. I will continue blogging to promote other things, but I won't use it as a money making enterprise. I'm sure you will get back into your flow of writing articles.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the site will improve. But I was watching the total amount being paid each month and I realised that for a site up and running for as long as GPFU the revenue was very small, this is why I gave up

Thanks for your response. My enthusiasm faded badly after that lol. I have not submitted an article since though I am halfway through one at the minute so will hopefully get that completed this am. Did you receive another payment from Getpaidfromus this month, strangely I did even though I havent written anything since Feb?

I am getting more disciplined in my writing renaissance. I submitted something to AC for the first time last night and I opted for upfront payment so I am awaiting approval of the piece. It was a little confusing reading through all the jargon and legalse about payment options and so forth and I am wondering if you can clear something up for me. The article I submitted was on an upcoming music event and was kind of travel oriented. After I posted it I wondered if I should have submitted it in a different payment category. It seemed the information on the site said that to get paid for page views you have to have been an active member for 90 days. This is all kind of confusing. Does it really take 90 days?

It does not take 90 days to get paid on AC. You just have to be active on the site at least once every ninety days to continue to be paid by AC. As soon as you publish something on AC you will receive money for page views as long as you stay active on the site.

Well done on writing an article for AC, are you from the US though? Thye only pay upfront to those from the US. I did not think it took 90 days to get paid, seems strange. This was not the case when I joined. Have you read AC TOS or even posted in their community forum to ask about this matter? Some of the experienced ACers may be able to explain it to you

I only just got started with AC and I hadn't looked at any of the payment stuff until I was posting the article and was asked what my preferences were. It was all rather confuseing as I said before. I guess I am just going to have to wait and see what happens with the piece I submitted and do some reading. For now I need to add two more articles to helium to get a rating star.

I only wrote one article today. It's an 800 word feature that is going into Smart Investor magazine. They'll pay me a handy $600 for the article, so I don't feel the need to write another article today :)

Amazing Raven. I would take the whole month off if I earned that from one article. Well actually I probably wouldnt, it would make me want to write non stop!!

I didn't say I would stop writing that day. I just said I wouldn't write another article. I spent the rest of my day writing a lovely fiction short story instead. It was fun :)

Wow...congrats on the work you got done and keeping up that motivation. I do get on a roll where I just want to keep going....matter of fact I have quite a few articles saved into MS Word that I have to put into the blog sites. I just haven't done it. What was your motivation today? Can you rub some of your writing luck off on me? LOL.
3 Apr 09
My motivation was just thinking how much can be made from residual income, and why it is beneficial to keep writing. There is the added advantage that I can publish my articles on both Helium and Associated Content and earn twice for the page views. Plus I will be receiving $52 from Helium next week for my efforts in March so this drives me to write more. I have some things saved on word too which I will update and add to before publishing on various sites. Do you just blog or do you use writing sites too?

Yes! I usually write and whenever I get mood to write on some topic, I never feel like stopping until and unless I finish the stock from my brain! I wish to complete the worked topic as well as give my 100% to whatever I am doing. I really like that attitude and love to stick to that principle.
3 Apr 09
That is good news, and helps you stay productive. Sometimes I start articles and then never complete them but I always keep my research and whatever I have written as some time in the future I may return to these articles and finish them. My moods can change quite dramatically, like last night I had no notion of writing can could barely string two words together and now today I am prolific!!

I am a new member with Helium, and still trying to understand it all. Can you tell me, do you get earnings when you post in the community forum? I went to the forum, but I don't see how to post, there is reply or quote, but I do not see new posts, comments or anything. How do you send a post on the forum? I wrote a article under the marketplace, regarding the real estate recession in your area, haven't heard anything yet.
5 Apr 09
You do not get paid for posts in the forum. If you wish to post a new thread you must scroll down to the bottom of a topic and hit new thread. On helium you earn daily revenue when you have at least one rating star and some articles. Additionally you earn upfront payments when you have a writing star and write articles in eligible channels. If you are interested in paid forums visit my blog where I have a really good paid forum, which I have made payout on already this month

I find I go thru spurts lately when it comes to my Writing for sure. Most of the time I write my Articles on paper in a Notebook, and then go from there. I do not feel the type most of the time to just Write something for Associated Content without writing it down somewhere else first. But I know I do have a lot of stuff I need to consider posting in there and see what I can earn from these as well.

There are times when I am "in the zone" and can write prolifically. More days than not, however, I struggle to get the first article done and then things seem to break and get a bit easier. Lately, I have really been lagging. Not sure why? Although there probably isn't any specific reason. Congrats to you. When the juices are flowing, it's the best feeling in the world. Even more so when you know that you are making money as well. It's nice to see that dollar figure at the end of the month, and know that all your hard work has been worth it. Good luck with your writing, but it looks like today, the luck is already with you!

Writer's block affects us all. I reckon when I am tired or worried about something I struggle to get any articles out there. I do agree that after the first article sometimes you can write more and more. It is great that each article is money, and I think this is one of the things that keeps me motivated to write more.

Congratulations on your work. I just got done writing an article for AC. I find it very hard to stop writing once I get into it. I look at the clock and the time has flown by. Right now I am working on my speed so I can crank more articles and have them still be good quality. Keep up the good work!

Good on you for getting so much done! I am seldom short of ideas but I find time is my worst enemy. There is no way I could put together three articles in one day! By the time I have completed my research decided which angle to go for it's time to pick up my daughter from school and once she's home that's the end of my writing day! I too have to keep going when I'm on a roll and, because it is not always possible due to my lifestyle, I get extremely frustrated! How lucky are you to be able to write at work! I tried doing it while I was cooking dinner once and as you can imagine we ended up with a burnt meal, the article was good though even if I do say so myself!

Wow, fantastic, not many people are in the mood to write anything before going to work. Most people are in foul mood and feel sorry for themselves before setting off from home. Hope that this kind of writing mood stays with you. By the end of the year, the passive income from the articles will be a nice Christmas present.

Thanks for you response. I love writing. I write everyday before and after work. I know the more productive I am the more money I will earn, and after all I want to get to clout 10 on AC so I cant afford to be hanging around!!

Wow, I really got inspired by you. I, too, love writing. However, because of my new job promotion (which I'm not really very happy), I am unable to update my blog. I seldom visit my friends here on mylot anymore, (sad sad sad). Today is my off from work so I'm going to grab this opportunity and write more.

Yeah, when I really want to write something or mark something , I could write for hours without stops. But it's also funny that I can't continue my writing if I even stopped it for a while .
