I clean my fridge once a month right before I go to do my monthly grocery shopping. That is unless something is spilled then it gets a clean over before then. My oven now is different I clean it only twice a year but I don't use it often. I use the George Foremen grill, toaster oven, electric skillet, and microwave more then the stove. So it doesn't get that dirty so I clean it basically for spring cleaning the not again till October/November. Well I hope that you be careful especially if you use a oven cleaner. Those fumes are stinky..

I love my George Foreman Grill it is fast, easy cleanup and it makes it easier for me to cut back on a lot of fat if I wanted to. It is heart healthy to use one.
I have two I bought one from WalMart when it was on sale and one at a yard sale still new like only used once. I know this because it was my sister in laws yard sale and she bought one because I did but then never used it but once in the 6 months she had it. I have used the George Foreman Grills many times and they are the best ones I have had so far of all that I've tried. The other brands cost more then the George Foremen grill and the black non stick stuff started coming off within a month and I have had the George grills fo 3 years and all is still good...

I finally bought one this year and they are great. I got to use one when I was doing product demonstrations. You can grill meats, or even have grilled or roasted veggies. I have put meat or cheese in a tortilla and folded it up and grilled that as well. it is very versatile. And fast.

When I had to defrost a fridge did it once a month now I dont haveto do that so if it gets something spilt in in wash it right up takes less time to clean then and my oven is a self cleaner so when I decide all I hae to do it turn in on then wipe out what is there. that dont take long either lol.

I have never had a self cleaning oven yet, not sure if I can afford one, I am buying my new stuff with gather points at home depot, so that is what I am saving up for.

I clean certain areas, like the vegetable drawer of my fridge, every week, when I put the fresh veg in, but in the main, I only clean the whole of the fridge once a month, and the cooker just gets a wipe over each time I use it, then a good cleanse every three months.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

I usually clean out the fridge as I am putting away groceries. If the vegetable bins need cleaned I do that as I go to put the new vegs away. That way I feel like I am keeping up on things better. Now the freezer is a different matter. I don't feel like I ever get it totally cleaned out because it is usually full and I have no room to clean it. But, for the most part, I think it is all relatively clean.

Do you put Arm and hammer Baking soda in the Refrigerator? That works good for oders.

Ha Ha ... now that you have talk about this topic, it just cross my mind that I have not cleaned my fridge for a very long time already. Although I do clean my oven like once in every 2 weeks, but in fact come to think of it I hardly clean my fridge. I think it has been ages or since the day i bought the fridge that it has not been cleaned before.
In that case, I better get going now and since it's a weekend, I can start with cleaning up my fridge.

Lately it seems like we never do it often enough. Most of the time even I think we have tended to wait until it really needs it, or until we are getting ready to have Company (like today), and then we do so. It just is so hard to make sure and do it more often when you get so busy with life that you seem to never have the time.
But back when we had our place on the Market for sale we had to keep these clean all of the time. We have actually thought about doing so again, so that means we will need to keep it clean all the time again.

Cleaning, What is cleaning? I remember my mom taking everything out and putting it on the table, and defrosting the fridge, as it was before frost free. If I find I can empty a produce drawer, I clean it. If I see a shelf, I clean it. I do not do it often enough, and I have a self cleaning function on my oven, so I do that occasionally if it is dirty.

up until three years ago I did not have a self defrosting fridge and I had to use the boiling hot water in the freezer, and I still do not have a self cleaning stove so I have to do that myself.

I clean my stove and fridge when it gets really dirty. With a house with four people it's all the time it seems. Now there are times that I don't need to clean the stove, because we don't cook as often. Now the fridge, every so often I will wipe the fridge down. It keeps the major cleaning down to the basics.

My hubby cooks and he usually runs stuff over on the stove, then when I turn the burner on it is either a fire in the tray beneith the burner or smoking. So I have to turn it off and let it cool so I can clean it. As for the fridge, I clean it out at the end of the month, because I shop for groceries on the first and need the room, as for the stove, my oven needs cleaned now. Seem to always put it off, cleaning the fridge and stove are not my most favorite things to do. I do always make sure there is no food spoiled in the refrigerator though. Then some time I just open it and say time to clean, so I guess when the mood hits me I do it.

lots of people are talking about cleaning the fridge before the grocery shopping, I think that is a great idea and I am going to start that too.

Those of us that shop only once a month, need the room, and it shows us what we have left as to vegetables, frozen foods, etc. And it clears out the stuff that needs to be thrown out or has become out dated, sot here is room for the new stuff. Remember to put the things that are only partly used in the front and the new container behind so that you can use the old before you open the new.

I usually will clean out my fridge once a month, just before I am going for a big shop so that it is usually the barest time so it is easier.
As for the oven, I HATE cleaning that thing out but the funny thing is I cleaned mine thing morning. I only clean that when the fire alarm starts going off every time I open the oven. LOL So that is usually only a few time a year that I do that. However though I do use my oven, I seldom have meat products in there so it doesn't often get the grease and fat splatters or stuff like that. But I probably should clean that thing out way more often than I do.

With the oven I try to wipe it out as soon as something gets spilled on it, it stays pretty clean this way on the inside anyways. I usually have to wipe down the front of it once a week. I cook every night so it gets a lot of use, and of the course things trickle down. With the fridge I usually wait until it looks like it neads it, then I will make some time to clean it. I don't have any set amount of time for either just when they need it, I do it.

We have a small refrigerator the kind for two people maximum, so its regularly cleaned. It has to stay clean. The stove is cleaned when it needs to be done.

Not nearly as often as I should, but then again thats true of my entire house. I am by nature a cleanly person, but working full time and sharing an apartment with a 12 year old boy doesn't set a precedent for white and pristine. Such is life. LOL.

and I haven't cleaned the fridge in 3 years. It needs cleaning. I cleaned the stove about six months ago. I spend my time on the computer and crocheting. I'm too busy to clean. It's embarrassing, but what the heck, I'm among friends.

I wait until it gets dirty, but not real dirty. I have gotten into the habit of, when I put something new in, I try to take something old out of the back. This saves energy as well as helps it from getting full of a lot of old food.
Many people don't realize that germs can spread from old moldy food. Meat blood can cause fruits and vegetables to get salmonella. Also, if your fridge is crammed with stuff, it won't run as well because the air can't circulate.
I do the same thing with my clothes closet. When I buy something new, I take something old out and put it in a box to drop off at the salvation army store or another charity.
