Desktop is more user friendly.....and beginners should buy desktops rather than laptops.......as the laptops are much costlier than same configuration desktops....and Gamers will always prefer desktops....... I think laptops are good for only official works.....the only adv. of laptop is its' portability........Space is also a matter for desktops......

I would definitely prefer a Laptop as earlier I have used a Dekstop and it was so tiring to sit on a chair, if I used to sit for hours, every two or three days I used to shift my chair's position as nothing was comfortable enough... And I have got very much relief from the time I own a laptop its so easy to carry it or to work on it...really happy now... Thanks and have a nice time!!!

Desktop and laptop both have advantage and disadvantage,as a student ,I prefer laptop because it is convenient to take with, when I go back to my home ,I can take it to my home easily ,as for desktop it will take more efforts. As for gamers it is more convenient to use desktops, it's performance is very cool.as sciense developed ,laptop's performance are more and more close to desktop.

I think you have a point there. But the thing is I think it always depends on the user. Like me for instance who is always out on business trips and lectures, the best option would be is to have a laptop rather than a desktop. For people who are more of in the home or office setting, then desktops would be find enough. Both have advantages and disadvantages, so the point is, it it entirely up to the user...

I started with a desktop and now have both. I spend more time on my laptop. I like to be able to sit in bed and be online at night. I don't think there is a big difference when it comes to user friendlyness because if someone buys a laptop to begin with they will just learn to use it as will someone buying a desktop. Laptops are only more expensive if you ask for more and a desktop can cost you just as much depending on what you want on the computer and what you are using it for.

I prefer a laptop. I'm never at a desk, I usually use my computer while in bed. A laptop is more expensive, but it is also much more convenient.

I prefer a laptop to a desktop because it is portable and light to carry. I can have in on my lap whilst I sit on my sofa or at a table. It will fit in a small space which is very useful. I could even go traveling with it. I don't have a desktop anymore because it sits in one place and takes up way too much space. I liked it when I used my LCD screen but before that the screen I had was huge. It was a nightmare to move it. When I had my desktop I had dial up Internet. Now I have my laptop I have wireless broadband.

I have moved too many times. A laptop it is. You can set up shop/office anywhere and not have to carry three or four big parts with you. Just the one. I love my laptop. It has served me well. Official works? Not always. You can set up your office right on your bed if you are sick alot like me. There you are anywhere. And, again, you don't have to have your moniter and your keyboard and your box cause it is all in one.

I prefer to a laptop, because it is now more rugged, compact and more greener than a desktop. We can use laptop any where. My desktop have been broken three times for three months, so i replace it is with a laptop ( netbook ) that i used six months. So it is better if we used laptop. I am not a gamer, but some time i use it. My netbook working 8-12 hours a day.

I have had a desktop for years & never really wanted a laptop as I never go anywhere that I would have use of a laptop. Visiting family & friends was never a problem as they all have desktops. It was just recently that I have wanted to get a laptop & finally bought one a couple months ago. On my computer I have windows XP & really like it, never thought about changing to Vista. But since I got my laptop I have fallen in love with it & so has my husband. It has Vista & I haven't had any problems with it since I got it. Over the years I have had all kinds of problems with my desktop with one thing or another. During the short time that I have had my laptop I haven't had one problem. It is so much faster then the desktop too & I find myself using it everyday while the desktop just sits there. I do turn it on & check it out to make sure it's still working but I always use the laptop. The only thing I have against laptops is the key board. With my desktop I have a keyboard that is slanted & I love it whereas the keyboards on the laptops are straight. It really doesn't bother me that much but I do wish they would come out with a laptop that has a slanted keyboard.

For me laptops are the key...well m a student too but I live away from home and I use my laptop almost all day. A desktop would be a problem as you need to sit up all day on chair and it hursts your back. A laptop can be placed anywhere. Plus they consume lesser power. Plus I am far from home so whenever i go home. Plus I need to go to different colleges for fests, so I take it there. I am also working on autonomous robotics so I need a computer to program them when I participate in Robotic Contests. So portability matters a lot. Plus there's power requirements. Laptop eats lesser power than a desktop which counts as i live with relatives and I dun want to inflate their bills.

For this time, i prefer a laptop. Since i had a desktop for a longer time already. Laptop is more convenient for me to use. Space saver... what is important for me is the availability of the unit whenever needed...

To be honest, I prefer both! Like you said, desktop computers are much more compatible for gaming. Laptops, on the other hand, is good for business since it is very compact and practically can be carried around with ease - not to mention the wireless feature of laptops when it comes to connecting to the cyber world. If there's a wi-fi connection nearby, then you're good to go. Well I'm a gamer, internet surfer, blogger, etc. Things that most internet junkies do. So yeah, I prefer both. In fact, I have both devices right now so it's cool. Overall, it just depends on what I'm comfortable with in a given time and place.

it all really depends on whether you want more speed and memory or if you want portable. I like PCs in the way that they are easy to use, are faster and can hold different accounts each filled with files, a lot more than a laptop would be able to withstand. But i also like laptops because you do not need to stay stationary and if on the go can always take your work/chat with friends while you are moving
