Back when I was growing up Easter was a Big deal. We always had an Easter basket with candy in it, and usually a nice breakfast as well. Then it was always time to gather as a family in our Sunday best, which was usually brand new clothes, and attend Church as a family. After Church we all came home and did an Easter Egg hunt usually and a nice dinner with Ham, Deviled eggs, etc. It was always a wonderful time for sure. I remember many a time getting together even with another family as well just to join in the festivities as well. Now a days you do not really see or hear of many families getting together and celebrating Easter like this. I actually miss these days, and will treasure the memories for sure. Yes, I will be attending Church next Sunday with my husband and my Church friends, and then probably go somewhere nice to eat for dinner. But nothing compares to the memories of old for sure. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter. ~~TINA~~

My extended family will get together for Easter, but I do not know yet if I will. We will get hubby's new schedule tomorrow, then I will know. All of our family get togethers involve tons of food. If I get to go to my brother's house, I will help with his church Easter Egg hunt on Saturday as well. Otherwise, I will go to church here with hubby.

I hope you were able to have a wonderful Easter, and were able to go to church. We went to Church and had a wonderful service and then came home and just relaxed.

My family celebrates most holidays together. We take turns going to each others homes. Christmas is celebrated at my house. The celebration starts Chrismas eve and lasts until the 27th usually. My mother will hold Thanksgiving at her house. After dinner we all play games and spend quality time together. Easter is a holiday that my mom and I trade off on. This year would have been my turn but I bought a house in Tennessee. This means I am in the middle of moving so my mom with be holding Easter dinner at her house. She will fix pork and sourkrat as well as a nice big ham. There will be colored eggs as well as lots of deviled eggs. My mom fixes all of us Easter baskets every year. I am 44 now, my husband is 62 and my daughter is 18. Even though we are all older the Easter basket is a tradition that we uphold every year. However, we do not fill the baskets with a lot of candy. There are one or two of our favorite candies and then good stuff. My daughter may get ear phones for her ipod or even a few dvds. My husband usualy gets flavored coffee or aftershave. I myself get what ever. Sometimes I get movies or cooking gadgets that I like. Easter is as nice as Christmas and it means just as much to my family. We are not big on going to church but we do believe in Christianity. Any way it is good to see that others celebrate Easter still. Happy holidays to you.

i remember doing fun things on easter like that after going to church on good friday and easter sunday. now we do the same thing for our daughters. but rather than just having an easter basket for them, i hide stuff through the house and even at 12 and 16, they still want me to do it!

I'm glad that I got here in time to wish you a Happy Easter as well! My mother is cooking a special Italian Easter lunch for us so we'll be heading to her house on Sunday. In the morning we will have an Easter Egg hunt for my little daughter which should be fun! My family is Italian and we don't have any specific traditions except eat a lot...Come to think of it we do that most of the time anyway!

Generally on Easter, we do all get together in my family. We get up and the kids hunt for their Easter Baskets. Then we get dressed in our new Easter outfits and go to church as a family. After Church we usually go to one of the sisters houses for dinner with the entire family~ there are about 23 of us now. We always have ham, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls and lots of desserts. We play games inbetween dinner and dessert, while alot of the men retire to the living room and end up snoozing. This year we are taking our kids to Florida for Easter. We still will have a ham dinner. My inlaws are in Florida, so we invited them over to spend the day at the beach with us and then will have a later dinner~ once the sun goes down.

We are just a small family since I only have two kids, so that makes only the 4 of us. However, since my mother-in-law, nephew, and a niece are spending their week-end with us, we are celebrating Easter as a one big happy family. If plans push through, we're even planning to go out-of-town--some four kilometers away from our city. But what's important is that we are all together. From the church, we could go to the beach, or swimming in a nearby pool and bring some simple foods to partake. A wonderful Easter too.

My family is 2000 kms away from me and we all are not very well off so we hardly ever see each other. Maybe once every 5 years if that. So I can't see then during the Easter time. When we were kids we would get together and have a meal and spend time together. For me I will have a nice dinner with my children and the bunny will come over. We also do Ukrainian eggs as a part of our family tradition.

We will be celebrating the Easter Sunday together. My sister ans I will be going home this coming Friday morning. I do not know yet what are the preparations of my parents. If there is none, still it's ok. What is important is we are so happy together.

Our family does the same every year. We go to easter service at church. We then have a great big lunch. Then we hide eggs for the little ones and allow them to find them. Its alot of fun and this year my son is actually old enough to have a good time.

My famioly back in Texas gets together. They go to church and have a big meal. It is pretty nice. The younger kids go on Easter hunts. Everyone has a good time. I miss those times. Being in the military I don't get back home for Easter as much. This year we are having a small easter candy hunt for my 17 month old in our front yard then we might go out for a bite somewhere nice. It is not the same as back home at Texas though;-)

Due to the armed forces my close family happen to live away from most of my relatives in Scotland (we live in England!). However, I will pop down and visit everyone at Easter occasionally such as this year I am traveling down with a friend for Easter.

Not just on Easter, our family has the tradition of being together every Sunday, in which the Easter has a deeper concept. We will surely have some time together and eat a lot of bunch after going into a worship service together.

Easter is celebrated in moderate scale in my family and not as grand as christmas. It is more on attending church services. It is a very simple celebration at home with only high tea.

After a little fasting for the holy week. We crave for delicious food. The family gets together plus some other relatives come. We cooked food for heavy dinner plus a little noise of egg hunting, singing or playing music together. With the situation today, however, we might just go out for a simple dinner.

Yes! Easter is one of the most celebrated time of the year for our family. We always go the the country side to see other relatives and spend the whole Holy Week there. I must say that I always enjoy the experience. Happy MyLotting!
