Well there is nothing that India could do as controlling the weather god is beyond anybody's reach. Also nobody cannot blame them as they were very sharp in the field & had just fell short of winning the third test match due to rain. One thing is that they should played the fifth day as i don't know the reason behind drawing this test match on the fourth day when u are so close to winning it.

Yes, that was really sad. Especially when India had come so close to that 2-0 margin. But just imagine, had this match ended in a draw - due to rains or for any reason - and in the previous match i.e. in the second Test India had to see very unusualy defeat, then this seris might have ended as 1-1. But just thanks to the great batting India managed to win the series. Another reason might be that the bowlers just, just feel a little low. Of course, we fans keep expecting always so much from our cricketers, that we forget that they too are humans just like us. But anyways, the series win in 41 years too is not a small thing. That really shows the standard the current Indian has.

that is exactly the point. if the series would have been 1-1 dhoni would have declared earlier much earlier than he did to make sure that india would have had enough time to win the test match. only because india led the series dhoni did not declare early. i think he made a mistake there. thanks for the reply. happy mylotting.

yes it was pretty disappointing to see the match end like thi sespecially since i got up early to see india win the match. maybe if dhoni would have declared earlier then india would have won the match. also ishant sharma dropped an easy catch towards the end. that also didnt help.

One cannot blame the Indian players for this draw as they have played well. It was really unfortunate to have rain on the final day of the match causing the draw.
But Pratik dear as you asked what India should have done to avoid this sitution I can say they should have scored a little quickly on the third day and have declared at the end of the third day. They would have given ample of runs to chase to the Kiwis.
