Is Robert Kiyosake right when he say: If you want to be Rich don't go to school?

I stumbled about this article on the net promoting about the the book by Robert Kiyosaki. It says that: "If you want to be Rich & Happy don't go to School". In my own understanding, he readily challenges the way our schools teach their students. It further states that our system of education is not suited for today's environment. Can anyone give some insight on this?

there are many ways one can success and to be rich or happy. but i can not agree this idea of Robert Kiyosake.nothing is more important than receive education in my mind.if none are willing to go to school the society will be more turmoil.childern can learn how to behave themselves and how to surive in this rapid development society at school.there is no better place than school can teach childern.

My question back to him would be "How rich is rich?". Different people have different opinions and my definition of rich might not be the same with his definition of rich. And by saying that people should not attend school if they want to be rich, when the word "rich" itself can be subjective, is quite inappropriate. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Robert Kiyosaki and I only finished one book from him. That's it. I feel that his style is too gung-ho and it's not really suitable for most people. I prefer a way of humility and be humble, not his gung-ho way. Also, different countries have different education systems. For me, school is there for you to gain knowledge, learn life lessons, meet new people, etc. It's not just about how you should be rich or not. The purpose of education is not that. And who said that by going to school, one cannot be rich? Don't forget that Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and all the rich people do go to school. Some of them are dropouts but all of them have been to school, and are pretty good too. Last but not least, I feel that whether one can be rich or not, all depends on other elements besides the education system.

A man applied for a job as toilet cleaner in the Central Station, Glasgow. After an interview he was offered the job and asked to sign a contract. "Sorry", he said, "I cannot read or write". The job offer was immediately withdrawn. On the way home was passing a street market and saw large heaps of wooden crates. He asked if he could have some and was told he could take as much as he wanted since they would not be reused. After breaking them up and tying the pieces in bundles he went door to door selling them as firewood. Next day he found two old pram wheels on a dump and made a barrow. Now he could take more crates. After a time he was able to buy a horse and cart then later a lorry. He was then able to offer short distance transport services as well as continuing with his wood business which now used the crates from several markets. After several years he had employed several people and was running an ever increasing business. He became very wealthy and his business continued to grow. His "Rags to Riches" achievement made him very famous. One day he was asked, by an admirer for his autograph. "Sorry", he said, "I cannot read or write". "What!" said his admirer, "Can you imagine where you could have been today if you had learned to read and write?". "Yes", said the man "I would have been cleaning the toilets in the Central Station!". In my own case, although I did attend school and later evening university I have learned more through experience than I was ever taught.

I don't agree.I think his view is too one-sided.Isn't it better that we go to the society after we have much preparation.
