Well, I came up with this question since I can see the improvement in me. I can now type without looking at my laptops keyboard. I can do this before when I was still in college since I have typing class. When I started working, my work involves a little typing so I completely forgot how to type without looking at the keyboard and was already slow in typing. Now that I have joined mylot, I am back in my old typing form. Simply amazing. How about you? Is there an improvement?

Yes it has. And what's so good about it is that I have always been one of the people who typed the fastest in class when I was in college. Now I notice that I type even faster and with better accuracy. I think it has to do with thinking and typing at the same time. I want to be fast enough until my fingers are able to keep up with my mind :D
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I don't think my typing skills have necessarily improved since joining myLot, but I do like to test my speed sometimes while posting. I have been trying to get better about editing as I go, so I always try to make sure my accuracy is good, and that my spelling and grammar are coherent, while I'm typing, rather than after I have finished.

I see, I also do that. I always look at the screen as I type and see if I am typing the right words. The thing is we can easily press the back button when we make a mistake rather than type and type and make corrections later on. Perhaps in due time your typing skills will really improve.

I see. I guess it is just a matter of time. Though if you really want to do it you can really do it. I guess it is something that you have to extend a little effort. Well, I am not telling you to do this or that because it is entirely up to you right? The important thing is that we are enjoying. Best to you!

I see, I guess you have a point there. When your doing it everyday, you get used to it. Its just like practice make perfect in a sense. Though I have used the word amazing as some sort of expression. I am really amazed on my improvement. Perhaps other also are amazed. Though to some it may just be natural and to others as well. Thanks for dropping by and best to you always!

yes, a lot in fact..,i have a Kiran Typing Tutor back then but because of constant practice it seems that i already what letters to type, which means that the result seems to be "fake" haha
myLot helped me in improving my typing speed in a way that the words and sentences here are not scripted. from 25 words per minute its now 35 words per minute and without looking in the keyboard. i type words while thinking all at the same time. and that is very different from typing tutorials.

Yes, it has also improved mine. Well, I am not really sure as to the speed of my typing skills but back in college I was very fast. It slowed down when I have not done typing anymore when I had a job. But now that I have joined here, I am back in my old form. I guess, I am even better. Good for you having the same effect. I am sure that you will continue to improve as time passes by.

I do believe that in due time with constant practice you will be able to do so. When your always doing it, you will be able to master such action later on. As what people say, "practice makes perfect". You may need to look at the keyboard now as you type but later on you will be able to do typing without looking at it anymore. Best to you!

I see. I guess chatting can also improve your typing considering that you also use the keyboard. In fact, I think it can really improve your typing skills if you chat considering that there is somewhat a pressure on your response. You have to respond right away since the one your chatting with is always waiting for your reply. So there is always the tendency to type fast. Great going!

Well, between typing in here and also being a dispatcher and having to type in addresses etc. with my job, my typing has really improved a lot. I did know how to type before, but was quite rusty at times. I still find myself still making a lot of mistakes at times, especially when tired, but Thanks to mylot and seeing my typing speed increase I find I have more time to get more discussions responded back too as well.

Yes, certainly by doing more hands on, you will certainly improve the typing skills. You have mentioned about being a dispatcher, do you happen to be dispatching ambulances and emergency vehicles? I do agree that if I do not do typing often, then I also get rusty.

Hello jpso. I am so glad to say that mylot has helped a lot in raising my typing skill and speed. I still remember that I used to have to look at the keyboard every so often at the very beginning of my becoming a mylot resident. With time passing by, I am quite familiar with typing on my laptop keyboard without having to look at the keys at all. It is a great improvement for me. My success owes to mylot.

Same here william. Though I have typing lessons, I am not really as fast as now if I compare my typing skills. This is simply because of constant posting here in mylot. Now, I can type fast without looking at the keyboard. So surely we have gained not only knowledge and earning here in mylot. We have also improved our skills. Thanks to mylot and best to you!

I am not sure if I can type now without looking at the keyboard of my laptop although I noticed some improvement in my typing speed, not that I am a fast typist already, it's just there's somehow changes. I don't have any formal class regarding this matter and I only learn it from my parents since we have a typewriter, I just hope it is still working, even though I have a computer subject way back college days but it was never been taught regarding finger placement and the correct way of doing it. At this time I'm still trying to master the appropriate finger placement but most of the time I am not following what it should be.

Well, no problem at all my friend. I can see that you are typing well on your reply here. That means that you are have no problem typing at all. Perhaps it is just a matter of type for you to type without looking at your keyboard. It is just a matter of getting use to it. Do continue to work on it and pretty soon it will be a breeze.

Yes you are right. Sometimes there are things that we do not really care about. But with mylot, there is certainly a way to improve considering that you do not get bored and you will certainly enjoy as you reply in the discussions. In doing so, you will naturally improve your typing skills and not even know it. Later on, you will just notice that you are doing well already.
