I just recently applied for Canadian tourist visa and i got denied. Lots of reasons like i didn't explain well when I'm coming back, but when i double check my application, it said there that i want to stay at least 2 months, i even specify the date when im leaving and the when I'm coming back. Another reason my family tree, i never thought that i have to submit my family tree, with the requirements, they didn't specify that i have to submit my family tree. My work experience, i have certificate employment, stated my salary, my approved vl and letter from the owner that they are allowing and they are expecting me to come as soon as i can. Although i don't submit my ITR but i prove to them that i have the money and I am capable to travel abroad.
So this is the issue, why filipino people having a hard time getting visa, US Canada and Australia. Why is it so easy for those foreigner to come here in the philippines? Are there any easy way for us to have visa? I really want to travel the world but how, if they make it hard for us.

I think the reason why we Filipinos experience this kind of situation is because of our fellow Filipinos who broke the rules. Anywhere in the world you can here, TNT Filipinos and foreign countries' government have a hard time catching these people. We can't blame them because they are just following the rules of their country which we should follow when we get there. On the contrary, these countries should not generalize because not all Filipinos are rule breakers.

I will agree it. It is more likely because of the amount of people from the Philippines that broke the rules, and so they government has to be more strict. I did not realize quite how hard it is for Filipinos to come over to visit. I kind of knew how hard it was for you all to come and work, I have worked with quite a few over the years, and most are trying for citizenship rather then just a working Visa. The best to do is make sure to have your prospective employer helping you out with your Visa, and hope that they have some influence. Best of luck, if you try again. Maybe one day I will try and go there, I hear it does not snow in the Philippines, I would like living in a place like that.

I got the point. Not all of us will dot the same thing others did. However, we can't change the mind of their government. They are just being cautious and protecting what are theirs. I know you have been to hard times for your Visa. But try to walk a mile on their shoes and probably you will understand why they are doing this. We can't change the fact that we are Filipinos and we are punished because of our fellow Filipinos.

Personally maybe it is because of it being harder to hand these out now? I know here in the USA to get passports is not as easy as it used to be, so maybe due to all of the problems everywhere they are just being a little more cautious as well. I would think maybe if you were to take a letter into them letting them know why you were requesting this, etc. it might be more accepted, and they will finally honor you with this.

I am so very sorry to hear that you got your visa denied for Canada. I have a British passport and am planning a trip there in 2010. I won't need a visa because my passport is all I require. I feel the visa system is mean. I have needed visas to work in Finland, work and then visit Australia, visit Jordan and go to Hungary before the visa system went down for Brits. I know that the visa system is not equal, some passports are desirable and others are suspicious that illegal workers will get into a country. The USA was suspicious of me and they need not have been. Good luck if your apply again for Canada and other counties in the future.

In my opinion I agree with you that there still discrimination in some other countries. I want our government make an effort for not easily approved the visa to the foreigners who want to stay here in the Philippines. Like they did to us we need to be strict to them in implementing the rules for illegal aliens and over staying.

I don't know much about the visa but i share the same sentiment that we should require a stricter visa requirement for foreigners too! Knowing that Philippines has become the bridge for terrorists. I guess we really should actuate this because the terrorists are foreigners and not the locals. Well good luck next time char.

hmm.. I felt that way too before...
I already got denied a visa for travel in Japan and US.
I actually had no plans of going there, it's just that my relatives, my mom's sisters, invited me to go there to spend the vacation with them.. My relative was even employed in the US Navy. (they sponsored me, to make sure that I am going back)...
I submitted a lot of papers though.. including that family tree.. Even some pictures and a lot of other requirements..
I guess I just lacked some luck because there are still a lot of people who are being granted a visa.... those who seem to be less qualified than I am.. haha...

i used to wish....to travel around the world....not to stay in other country but just to visit other countries...like egypt...i wanted to see those pyramids....greece mainly europe...to see what castles really look like....but its not going to happen....its really hard to get a visa...specially if your single....they would think that your going to stay there for a while and planning to marry there....its very sad...but thats how it is....cos some other filipino applied for tourist and stayed there illegally...and plus the fact that philippines is also known to have a terrorist in our country...so it adds up....and our government....well they are the one who told other embassy to refrain filipino going there...its their "diplomatic agreement" as what they call it....cos our government doesnt want to look bad in other countries...being a 3rd world country is also one aspect of having a hard time going abroad....

On my opinion, may be because most filipinos apply for tourist visa is always planning not go back to the country and staying to the other country for good. i've japan already and its the same problem. you cannot enter japan if no one in that country will invite you or a company who will be the one process your visa. its very difficult. for tourist visa as you had said they need to know that you are capable to travel abroad and have enough money on your bank. foreigners can easily approve there visa to travel in our country may be because they just here to travel and after that go back again to their country. its really unfair for us and yes they are discriminating filipinos.
