I have had many jobs in my life but they were all before I got married. After I got married I had one job and it only lasted for 3 months. The schedule didn't work out with my son's school schedule so I gave up the job.
I have a degree but have never used it. As a matter of fact, I have outgrown that part of my life and no longer have in interest in working in that area.
I am in the process of looking for a WAH job and think I may have found one. I'm just worried because it's been so long since I've worked but this would be a good thing for me!

I've only had one job so far and that was working during one summer (in 1999 I think) for the school I was going to at that time. I signed up for cooking but because the budget was low, everyone got stuck doing paper work. We were being taught how to write a resume, and watched movies on interviews. The teacher went on vacation and everyone was switched to gardening work. After this, I chose to wait until I graduated from college to get a job/career but it sometimes seems I made the wrong decision.

When I was younger, I too, had just a string of jobs without any clear career goals. Then in my mid-30s, I did choose a career path, went to college and earned my degree. I have worked in profession that had been satisfying and although the pay at first wasn't all that good, the past 5-6 years I have made very good money. But now I find myself unemployeed and thinking deeply if I want to continue working in my chosen profession or start over in a different field of work.
To answer your question: YES, find a good career doing what you enjoy and have either talents or skills at doing. I had a good career, enjoyed what I did, have a beautiful home, new vehicles, and live comfortably. It has been well worth the trip.

Hi celtic...Thanks for sharing such wonderful experiences. I guess I never really figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up so I just got jobs. Maybe I should think about it...Thanks for your response.
