Here in the UK we have already celebrated mothers day on 22nd March. My children all brought or made me cards and my 8 year old's school gave all the children a single carnation to give to their mums which I thought was a nice touch. I also got a CD, a box of chocolates and a little figurine with a rhythm about how special mothers are from my other children. My partner did not let me lift a finger that day he gave breakfast in bed and cooked dinner that night so I was spoilt rotten and enjoyed every minute. I think that is a great idea you sending your mum money as she can then get what she wants with it. That way she knows that you are thinking of her.

Hello sky and welcome to mylot! This will be my first mother's day as a mother so I'm really excited! It think it's a wonderful gift for you to send your mother money so she can go shopping and enjoy herself. I don't know what we'll be doing for our mothers. Thankfully there's still some time to decide.

I think i will spend the day with my mother, maybe take her out to eat. I always try to spend Mothers Day with my mom, where she gets to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It will be times that the grandchildren and great-grandchildren can look back and say they got to know her as well a i do.

I'm just going to retell the story of what my significant other did for his mum last Mother's Day. It never fails to bring a smile to my face. Last year I asked him what he got his mum for Mother's Day. He looked at me in his excited spastic way and dragged me to the living room where she was kicked back on the sofa. And he presents her with a blue rose. Then, he tosses at her a small playground style rubber ball. Now the look on her face said the exact same thing that I was thinking. "Just what on earth is this ball for!" She tossed it back at him, bouncing it off the floor. He caught it with a smile and returned the gesture. "It's so you can feel young again," he told her in a gentle manner. His mother laughed. I suppose that in those few seconds that she was young again, returned for a moment to that state of innocence where the world was so carefree and perfect. As a mother myself, I couldn't think of anything better to ask for.
