My friend and I were surprised when we walked into Olive Garden today. At the door behind the hostess stand stood a cop. He smiled and nodded as everyone walked in and out. He wasn't meeting other cops, he didn't have a to go order, and he was there early before the lunch rush. We took our time during lunch so we were there for a VERY long time. When we left, he was still at the door looking standing at guard.
Has the economy been that bad that geriatric patients and small children have been rioting at local eateries during lunch? Or is there something else going on???? Why are rent a cops or even real cops seen guarding the inside of restaurants????

That's very interesting that you bring this up. Over the weekend we were away and went to dinner in the city where we were staying. Outside of the Ruby Tuesday restaurant where we were eating there was a cop standing. She was there the whole time right outside the door. I thought maybe it was because there was a hockey game that night and maybe they were expecting some roudy people.

I know that I have seen them outside of restaurants on weekends or the later "Happy Hour" crowds. But this was a Wednesday lunch time and it wasn't even very busy. I think everyone was wondering what he was doing there.

There may have been something going on that they werent discussing around clients... I have seen things happen like that where a situation is taking place near a location and the cops will stay within a distances to be ready when needed.... or they may have been watching out for someone.
still it does make you wonder!! LOL

The economy is so bad that people are doing stupid things and then it is causing things to go up in prices. People are doing a lot of stealing and it is a crime. To me it is just to keep the innocent people safe and get the bad guys. Plus right now in Tucson Arizona there is a guy stabbing people but they think he might of left the town so maybe they sent a alert out to other states to keep a eye on him. But makes me wonder how he left town. Cops can not catch this man!

I agree. People are doing extremely stupid things now a days with the fall of the economy. Juvenile crimes and robberies have skyrocketed in my area. With the amount of foreclosed and abandon homes in Florida everyday things like AC units and pool pumps and garbage cans are being stolen.
Yea it really confuses me when we can't catch a killer. With technology today how could someone evade the police? Or does this mean that the police only use advanced technologies at certain times? Hum......
