I am about halfway through a book called "Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold.
It is about a 14 year old girl who is murdered. The book is her point of view watching her family cope with her death and try to find her murderer. She tries to make contact with them but can't. She can only watch as they move on without her.
Pretty interesting so far.
How about you? What are you reading and what is it about?

It is a thriller/mystery book, but while the community people of the town is trying to catch the killer, they all seek guidance from God, or question their relationship they have with God, like do they pray or talk with God as much as they should, or do they just talk to God when they need something, meanwhile they killer is out there still tormenting and kiliing the people of this town. It is a GREAT book!!

I went to the library last week and I borrowed 6 books full of horrorstories. The stories are written by Kenneth Ireland, R.L. Stine and Dennis Jürgensen and I have read many of them before (when I was younger) The reason why I am reading them again is that I have decided to write my own collection of horrorstories. I want to read my favourite stories again, I think that will inspire me and help me write my own stories. I don't like all the stories, but some of them are very good.

Yeah, I want to be a writer too. I have started a novel. Have you written anything before?
I've heard of RL Stein, cuz he's a big time bestseller of childrens horror stories, but the others, I don't know. My favorite Horror writer is John Saul. THey get a bit grusome, but they are just so darned good!!

I can't remember if I read his books. I was thinking he was a name I admired, but then I saw that he mostly wrote children's books. So now I'm not sure. Maybe I did read him when I was that age.

hi ChaJudLeoBit
I am now reading a book on superstition.
And my last finished reading is about Pilates, I want to know more about it before I attend an exercise course of Pilates. I seldom finished romance fictions, I like to read adventure fictions and can finish them easily. The only book I finished lately not an adventure fiction is "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom.

I have heard of that one and may even have it on my wish list at Half.com. Was that one made into a movie?? I'm thinking the title sounds familiar as a movie title.

OK, I just looked it up. It was made into a movie and came out in 2004!! I didn't realize it was that long ago. I was thinking it was something coming up...
Oh well.
Maybe we should rent it. OK, I just put it on my Netflix list.

I can't say that I have heard of that one. Was it a movie or a play? I'm sorry the book isn't as good, it's usually the other way around. If I really like a book, I usually refuse to see the movie because it is NEVER as good. (I broke that rule with 'Twilight'. The movie wan't as good as the book, but it was fun to watch the parts that made it into the movie)
So are you not going to finish the book?
ebook, huh? Are you reading it sitting in front of the computer, or do you have something to download it onto? I have never read an ebook, I like the hold the real thing.
Thanks for posting

Right now I am reading Cross by James Patterson. I actually just started it and not sure when I will finish it. I am in the middle of reading a bunch of different books because i get bored with reading for a while then pick up something new then read so much from that author til i get bored then go to a new author. I think I have read my fill of Patterson for now. I will return in a few months.

I have not read any of his books. But he's pretty popular, so maybe I should try him out. I used to be so picky and not read anyhthing that wasn't from one of my few favorites. But now since I am trying to write a novel myself, I am branching out more.
So are you on something else now? What is it and what is it about??
Or you can just tell us what 'Cross' is about.

My reading is usually for pure relaxation, no brain power needed, so I either read Christian romance novels, Christian suspence novels,or Star Trek novels. I've been reading Star Trek novels for over 30 years. The regular romance novels got too raunchy for me, so I tried the Christian romance novels and the suspence ones. I like the romance and the suspence without the "R" rating. If I'm reading to learn something, I'm usually reading Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen, or Charles Stanley.

I meander back and forth between my self-help type books on a Law of Attraction them and fiction. For instance the LOA type books I'm reading are Harmonic Wealth by James Arthur Ray, Happy For No Reason by Marci Schimoff both were involved with The Secret DVD and book. For fiction I'm reading the second in the Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper--I LOVE children's/young adult books on a fantasy theme

OMG I am a reader and read almost anything. I just finished reading one of the V.C. Andrews series' and if you have read any of her books you know her imagination is "out there." I am reading a romance novel right now called "The Bequest" by Candice Proctor. It's about a girl who was raised in convent who gets a letter about a house that someone left her when they passed. Come to find out it was her mother and the house is a brothel. WOOOHOOO!!! The moms partner...one of those sexy gunslingers....tries to get her to just sell and leave but she won't do it. That's as far as I have gotten so far but I will be done before the day is over. I read a book a day most of the time. I read while I am at work too. LOL

You made me jump up and run to my book shelf! I have an AWESOME book by Raymond Feist called "Faerie Tale". Talk about a GREAT BOOK! It lists Magician as one of his previous works, so if you like that one, you'd probably like this one too. I read it when I was younger, borrowed it from my aunt, then had to get my own copy cuz she wouldn't let me keep it. I definatly recomend this one!! And I will put your on my next library list.
Thanks for bringing back such fond memories!!

Maybe he made 'Magician' into a series later. Cuz it wasn't one when this book came out (in 1988). I'll try to look into that.

I'm reading the da Vinci code. I offered this book to my wife some years ago. She didn't start for a while so I asked her to read it. Was about 100 pages when she asked me to read it. I enjoyed the pages I could read, so I became a Dan Brown fan.
Recently I picked it again.

Lovely Bones is a great book! It's actually on my list of favorite books.
Right now, I'm reading Robert Kiyosaki's book "Guide To Investing" it's also great. I'm learning a lot from his books. If you're interested in reading them, I think you should start with "Rich Dad, Poor Dad".

just a week ago, ive read about the Philippine ghost stories. it is a book where you can read anything about the ghost and it is based on true story. You can read about the different experiences of different people here in Philippines. It is nice to read however,i still don't believe that ghost exists.

I'm currently reading 'The Bookseller of Kabul'. I can only imagine living in such a war torn, devastated country. Seeing a glimpse of the people who live in the country and have such hope for a better future is really interesting.
