Has anyone else noticed that their Sunday coupon inserts are getting smaller and smaller?

They are getting to be less in many ways. Less of them, less value and less stores are coupon friendly. Our local walmarts are limiting the amount of coupons you can use at the store now. You can only use one per like item, so if you have 4 suave coupons you need to come back 4 times and on different days. Many dont take printables anymore. Its getting frusturating to me, but what else can we do?

I am lucky that my store still takes internet printables, but with the lower values I have to wonder whether its worth it to print them or not.

In some areas one of the major coupon printers(Redplum) pulled out their coupon inserts from the sunday papers due to lower redeming areas. Since I am an avid couponeer and highly active on coupon websites, I see that some of these people are devistated by the loss of the coupons. I have also seen the values drop, and am kind of starting to see why though. There is so much coupon fraud going on around that the manufcturers are taking the hits. The fraud is not the everyday coupon user using the sunday coupons, but stores(mostly smaller stores) aquiring large amounts of coupons and sending them in, while never really selling the product. I also recently saw an article about a clearing house(where the big stores send the coupons) that were redemming coupons to the manufcturers and were saying they were the stores, but in reality they were keeping the profits. I think the 1 company alone was found to have smuggled over 250 million dollars. It sure sucks that coupons are going downhill, but I am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope they don't go away totally, or my lifeline would be gone.

I am in one of those areas. We are lucky that we get a Smartsource now. We get a Red Plum in it, but its only got one or two coupons (that I can't use) in it usually.

Wow! I haven't really noticed coupons decreasing. Last week, I had four inserts in each of the papers that I bought. There were two smartsource, one red plum and then one proctor and gamble. There are never any coupons on the Sunday before a holiday, so nothing new there. I haven't noticed a decrease online either. What I have noticed is that a lot of the coupons are always the same, and if you want something new, you have to go right to the manufacturing company yourself.

I know exactly what you mean. Not only are they getting smaller in availability, they are worth less than they used to. What used to be $.75 off of one item is now $.55 off of two items. What makes it even worse is that many companies are switching to the coupons that you have to print yourself, from home. Most stores in our city won't take these coupons. Those that do won't tell you straight out yes or no. They have to look at the coupon then decide if they will accept it. I guess that what happens when people commit fraud. However, we try to make up for it by going online and requesting coupons from companies like Kraft, Dove, Nestle, etc. They are still some of the people that issue coupons every few months by regular mail. We just have to make do and this helps even it out a little.

The coupons where I live have been great. We still get Red Plum, thankfully. I really can't complain. I get a few Q's for items that I use and then I can trade the rest with others who need them for more of the coupons I use on a regular basis. I have a huge collection of coupons and save on average 80% per visit to the store, so I guess I am lucky. :-)
