A co - worker of mine is his birthday today, we didn't know, and we have no idea that is his birthday. Until he brought two cakes in. We ask him what is the occasion? He told us that is his birthday. We were surprised, and we get some candles and celebrate his birthday. Would you buy your own birthday cake, so people would celebrate with you? Is that your culture?

Actually, I will just act as if there's no occasion at all. If for some reason people remembers that its my birthday we usually celebrate by buying pizza for our group or we just go out and eat out or something like that.

to make one or two people surprised, i would like to buy my cake but most of the time, I don't like doing this shopping for my self. I would love it if it can be done by my friends or family members.
Don't you think that it gives immense satisfaction when others also enjoy your b'day? Thse days I am not celebrating it, because I have not been in a job for last one year and few months.

that is sad. I never celebrate my birthday, and no one remebers it, but i'm not going to buy myself a birthday cake. and 2? wtf? its weird. Was he gonna have a party with his dolls? what's going on there? Or hey guys celebrate my birthday and i'll give you cake. If you have to give someone something to make them celebrate your birthday, then what's the point?

This is pretty standard at my work. If it's your birthday you buy cakes for everyone
