How long will you wait to see a doctor?

Yesterday my mother went to her heart doctor and after signing in found out there was a two hour delay. Now my response of course was "You can't call anybody?" I can understand the doctor was probably delayed due to others who have heart problems, that's fine, but I still think the people who had appointments shoudl have been called to be alerted of this, because not everyone there lived in the town they came from some places pretty far away. But then again I also can understand they are busy. But sometimes in this office things don't get passed on, for example messages to have new scripts for medications to reorder, etc. So we always wait to see the doc to make sure it gets done. Of course we waited because it was a follow up to some tests done and he was booked the following day and he was not there the rest of the week. And yes it was a full two hour wait. So would you wait? or just reschedule or make a fuss to get back there to see him/her?

Of course I wait. Doctors knows what are they doing.. others keep on telling that they not alarm.. of course, it depends on the situation.. probably it was 2 hour to wait.. so if you are in the emergency room you probably got the intention and will not waited for 2 hrs. and if you were not in the emergency room of course you will be waited. there are some of paitient and works that really needs. they know what are they doing.. i hope you understand.. being a doctor or working in the hospital it's not so easy. there are lots of patient and works to do.. or the policy that they should do.

I really hate waiting so long. I am an impatient person and I dont want to be kept waiting for so long especially on a doctors appointment or a date or a night out. If I am on time I want them to be on time too.I used to work as a medical secretary/nurse and I have had people wait so long on their doctors appointment and I was really impatient for them that I am hating the doctor for letting them wait so long. If I was the doctor I would give them an appointed schedule. The patients should call and ask for a schedule and if the date is already there if the patient cant wait long I suggest they call to see if they are near the line already and I suggest that to all my patients especially the bad cases like the ones so old to wait or so sick. I don't want patients to wait so long.

I understand how you feel. Every time I go to my doctor's it's at least an hour wait or more. Most of the times there isn't even anybody in the waiting room. That is something I don't get. Why am I waiting so long when no one is even there in the waiting room? In answer to your question though, I probably would not wait two hours. I think I would just ask them if the doctor is running behind that day. Maybe even call them before you leave the house.

well i will wait for him to come , i can keep patiece for a long time . i would also sit because already so much time has been wasted so i would want to complete the chek up and only then would i like to go to home. it would not be a wise act if i went to my house and then come someday to waste more precious time.

I would need to be very ill or badly hurt to wait two hours at a doctor's. Sometimes they can be be unavoidably delayed but then I would ask for a new time which I would expect to be kept. If it happened regularly I would look for a new doctor. This morning I went to see my doctor without an appointment and waited less than five minutes. I know I am lucky, my doctor is a Romanian lady who is very efficient, considerate and has a wonderful sense of humour. Visiting her is a pleasure.

That will depend on the sickness type, condition and who the patient is. If it's my younger brother, we usually take him straight to the doctor since he can't tell us anything about it. For others like us, we wait a day if it's just normal fever.

That is certainly not a proffesional act. Only excusable as an emergency otherwise i'd say what a shame. There is no this kind of nonsence here in my town. Respect is granted from many proffesions. I'm Proud now.
