A teacher who can arouse a feeling for one single good action, for one single good poem, accomplishes more than he who fills our memory with rows and rows of natural objects, classified with name and form.
Any teacher can study books. but books do not necessarily bring wisdom, nor that human insight essential to consummate teaching skills

A person needs a lot of qualities to be a good teacher. One needs to be patient, kind, caring and really needs to enjoy working with other people and teaching them how to do things. Teachers can't get angry easily or be the type of person to put someone down for not understanding something or because they can't do something right. They need to be understanding so they can understand where a person comes from and how that influences how they may act and view life. There are a lot of qualities that a teacher needs to be successful and that is just a handful of them.

A good teacher is a well rounded self-understood individual. The gathering of information and imparting it to others is not teaching as is frequently taught. A good teacher is grounded in their own positive self-worth. They can appreciate the values and worth of others. A good teacher honors the teacher-student relationship. Good teachers have a "we" attitude. The student and teacher alike learn and teach. They both understand that when the light of learning is turned on that the world becomes a better place. Education has met its goal. It is a win-win situation. The teacher understands that learning is always going on in the classroom.

A good teacher is someone who is there for the students and wants to make sure the student succeeds to the best of his/her ability. I think that teachers need to feel an ownership over the knowledge that a student has.
