Recently, I have been recieving lots of sales call, I mostly just hang up or say "NO, I don't need it." I would feel kinda bad to havethem say the whole thing then I say NO. I always feel if I wany something, I would look up and go for it so I never buy anything or agree with anything through the phone. How about you?

i can't imagine anyone buying anything off the telephone sight unseed but i know they do or these folks could not stay in buisness. we have a number we can call & once u get signed signed up w.then it's suppose to stop all the telemarketers from calling you. it works pretty good.

First I try to know details about product, manufacturer & cost of product. After that I try to know the use, side effects of that product. & If that product is suitable for me either by use or by economics then i must purchase that. Like water filter.

I usually save my time to look by myself instead of listening somebody telling me through the phone. Thanks for responding! :-)

I don't appreciate unsolicited sales calls at all. The worst are the automated ones where you cannot tell the caller to cease and desist. We have a do not call registry in Canada. Since implementation, the sales calls have had a marked reduction. If there is another person on the other end, I quickly say that I am not interested and I inform the caller that my number is on the do not call list. After that, I ask them to take me off their calling list. A company faces fines if they continue to call you after they are aware that they should not. Otherwise, I just hang-up right away. I do not feel bad when quickly cutting off a sales call. I am saving my time while also saving the telemarketers time as well. Why go through the entire pitch if I have no intention of buying?

I feel the same way...I hate these calls...sometimes i just put the phone down and let them talk away until they realize that they are talking to no one. I know that they are doing their job, but i do not want or appreciate any sale calls. I especially hate the ones that say they are going to reduce my credit card rates.... I do not or ever have had a credit card...So where did they get my name and phone number from.

EVen though you are very careful where you leave your number and contact, they are still able to get it. I used to have a friend working in a fitness centre, she told me they sell customers' register book to some companies, I think it was very not good.

Well i understand if you'd feel irritated as even i am not a big fan of telemarketers making calls to us to sell things even though they were just doing their jobs, still, i just can't see myself making a purchase on the phone, it's just not me..Well, i'll just explain to them tht i am not interested in these type of sales and i'm sure they would understand...They must, or they'll get me pissed off instead...lol..

I tried to explain and said I'm not interested but they will keep saying stuff so I don't bother anymore.

There is a web site you can go to and have your phone number put on a no call list. If you goodle it just put in no call list and you should get the site. I also donated money to the fire department and since then I get twenty to thirty calls a month asking for money. I with they did not sell my name and number. I hate the fact that they call and talk to me like we have been friends for years. This year however money is very tight and I have to tell them no. Sometimes I have to hang up on them because they do not want to take no for an answer. When you get sales calls that you do not want tell the person on the phone to take your name off their call list. This should help cut down on your calls. It is a real shame when you have to get mean with someone on the phone because they don't want to hang up. I do not like getting nasty but it seems like you have to on occation.

I listen to a little bit of what they have to say, and then I politely say "Im sorry but I really can't afford, please take my phone number off of your calling list". I have been a telemarketer before so I know its a tough job so i try to not be rude but i know the rules too and if you ask for your phone number to be taken off the list, they have to do it. If they don't then you can ask to speak to a person in charge and you can get them in trouble for that.

I am usually polite and honest. I never buy anything on the phone and I don't give out any person information. If it sounds good I request they send me some literature on it and go from there. I used to work at a job where I called people at home so I know the other side and I always try to be nice. But, if they are hard to understand or it is something really dumb I just tell them straight out I am not interested and hangup. I think that actually helps them. They don't have to run through their entire speech and can move on.

That's what I do too to save their time and move on to the next person on the list.

I also hate those calls! I wonder who sell my information since they can recite it well. They listen to "No" and force us to listen all the way and say "Yes". I usually put the receiver aside since I can't just cut the conversation off. Then I pick it up to say "No"
